The room size is pretty good, and the location is excellent and convenient. However, it's unacceptable for a high-end hotel not to provide body lotion. The room cleaning wasn't great; there were still some hairs after cleaning, and the bedding had some stains. Parking is very inconvenient; you have to park in a distant mall, which isn't friendly for those driving. Breakfast wasn't tasty, and the food didn't seem very fresh. The shower water temperature was unstable, constantly fluctuating between hot and cold.

Extremely bad hotel. A truly awful experience, the worst night I've had in the UK. Birmingham was 30 degrees Celsius, and the hotel knew the AC in the room was broken but still sold it. I was traveling with my parents, and they couldn't stand the heat. At first, they only sent two small electric fans to the room, saying there were no other rooms available. After firmly negotiating with them, they finally said they had a room, but it was a twin room. I ended up sleeping on the floor that night. What disgusts me most is that the hotel knew there was a problem and just gambled on us Chinese being too weak and tolerant to complain.

Only one receptionist, who wasn't on counter when we arrived. We were running late which made us even more late. Not enough tea/coffee facilities for three people to have one cup each. Daughter dropped something which rolled under bed when we moved yhe bed it was disgusting, old tissues, McDonalds, looked like everything had just been swept under there. Air-con wasn't great.

Perfect location. Rooms were very clean, only issue was how long it took to check in, We waited 20/30mins to check in as there were only two receptionists on during a busy check in time. Once we were checked in though I couldn’t fault the place.

The hotel doesn't have its own parking. If you're driving, you have to walk to the nearby B4 carpark, though the parking fee was discounted. I specifically booked a more expensive executive king room, but they still gave us a room with two beds. When I asked the front desk, they said the main bed was large and the smaller one next to it was a 'bonus.' I was so speechless I actually laughed. It was too late and I was too tired to argue, so I just stayed for one night. Anyway, it wasn't what I booked, so it's a negative review.

After unable to leave Birmingham, We decided to stop at the Clayton again and give it another night from the bad system issues they were having. This was a lot better granted and the floors are very secure having floor locked to your key cards to get access. Breakfast we were earlier down and it paid off. Breakfast was better this time. Only little issue was the bathroom could do with a bit more attention to detail with little bits of little black mold in the more harder to reach areas and red residue in the grouting in the tiles. Apart from that sure I’d sure recommend it for the pricing

This was our first time staying at Birmingham’s Clayton Hotel and safe to say will be our last. We arrived to check-in at 2:45pm and were told checkin starts at 3 and we’d have to wait. At 3pm we were then third in queue and somehow took an hour for them to work through the two people ahead of us. Once in the room, our air conditioning wasn’t working and neither was the netflix or any of the smart TV features (the room was advertised as having a smart TV). We tried to get through to reception and took a few tries before someone picked up. When the staff member came up he told us the AC ‘should be working now’ and asked us to report in a few minutes should it not. We were also told that it looks like the TV is not a smart TV and only has cable channels. The AC worked for 3 minutes prior to shutting off again. Tried reception a few times however no reply. When we went down to reception we were told they would be happy to change our room for us and said someone would be up in the next 15 minutes with the new room key. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes in our room, no one arrived and we ended up leaving the hotel. Upon our return at 11.45pm, we queued once again in reception for an hour before someone was able to see us, after talking to the staff member we were told to wait and they will let us know regarding our new room soon. We were made to wait till about 12.50am after which we reproached reception and were told they are sorting it out for us and they gave us a drink voucher to redeem at the bar. After 30 minutes, and another trip to reception we were told they have no room they can move us to. they also said the AC in our room seems to be on ‘auto’ mode and they can’t fix it. They said the best they can do is offer us fans - which were got into our room. Despite this it was still quite hot. Overall, this experience was quite disastrous for us. The room AC and TV not working as advertised were disappointing. We also spent quite a few hours of our short one day stay queueing and trying to sort issues out with reception. We have previously stayed at different Clayton hotels across the UK and have had a lovely experience, however this stay at Birmingham has deeply disappointed us and we do not feel it was worth the money we have spent.
