Would give 3.5 Stayed for one to attend an engagement at Star City so hotel is only 5mins away from Star city shopping complex which is great On arrival the young man checked us in was very helpful we had two rooms both needing upgraded USB sockets at beds weren't working a reading lamp had a hole instead of where switch was supposed to be dark rooms especially for doing make up not much natural light or the lighting in rooms wasnt very good in either of 2 rooms holes in wall where televisions were hanging didn't ask to change rooms as were only staying one night but the rooms were clean Breakfast was ok it took staff a while to fill up food containers not sure if this due to lack of staff available at breakfast

From the moment we checked in we found all the staff friendy greeted with smile and eye contact, the room was spotless we ate at the hotel in the evening took advantage of the 3 course set meal deal that was good value.Breakfast was very good plenty to choose from. We used the complimentary transfer to the airport and again the driver was very friendly and helpful . Overall a great stay and will be using this hotel again in September.

We did a self driving trip in Birmingham, which means the only problem for transportation we need to concern is car parking. Cannot provide info about location. Rooms are clean and big enough for opening the suitcases. Breakfast is literally amazing which has so many choices.

For a Holiday Inn Express it does what it advertises. The rooms are spacious and clean, good size bathroom and helpful staff. Breakfast was included in the stay but would have been disappointed had I paid extra for it as there wasn't a huge selection available so I simply had a yoghurt. Check in and out was easy enough and the gent that helped me was very friendly. Easy enough to get to the NEC the next day so would stay here again if needed.
