Club Med Bintan

This resort truly lives up to its 'Singapore's backyard' reputation! We were so lucky with the weather and thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay. The hotel has its own private beach with beautiful, soft white sand, though you won't find many seashells. The all-inclusive package for three meals a day was incredibly convenient. There are tons of activities that kept both the kids and adults happy. What really sealed the deal for us was the tennis and pickleball courts. And definitely don't miss the evening shows – they're fantastic!

This was my first Club Med experience, and I initially thought it was only for families with kids. But this trip completely changed my perception of Club Med. To sum it up: it's an absolutely amazing place, a true paradise! The GOs (Gentle Organizers) are incredibly friendly, like friends. There's delicious, unlimited local food, beach BBQs, live singers by the sea, tons of fun activities, and great boutique shops to browse! About the room: Although the Club Med in Bintan is a bit older, it's very well-maintained. The room was clean and tidy, quite spacious, and the bathroom had no strange smells or dampness. If you're lucky, you might even spot a monkey! 🐵 About the food: I think the all-inclusive package at Club Med offers great value for money. There are two main restaurants: one buffet and one à la carte that requires reservations. The food quality is good, especially the reservation-only restaurant which was fantastic. For dinner, they had a spread of seafood! 🦞 About the activities: We tried aerial yoga and tennis, and the experience was superb. I heard this is the only Club Med in the world with aerial yoga – doing yoga by the ocean was incredibly therapeutic. It's a shame we didn't have more time to try other activities. Every evening, there were amazing performances by the GOs! About the spa: I highly recommend their spa. The techniques were great, but more importantly, the views were incredible. I suggest the 'honeymoon room' where you can directly see the sea – the spa itself is very photogenic. About the GOs: The GOs are truly the soul of Club Med. Our GO, Frankie, was incredibly thoughtful. He ate with us, chatted with us by the sea until late at night, and treated us like friends. And Beverly, the yoga instructor, is such a warm and sunny Malaysian girl. Not to mention the sisters at the boutique shop – we found so many beautiful clothes there. I truly love everyone! We will definitely be back!!

The room itself was decent, and the view was beautiful, but the amenities felt a bit lacking. There was no comb, you had to buy one, and toothbrushes were only provided for the first day, not the second. 😔 It was quite confusing. The food was just okay, not particularly delicious. Also, the entertainment options were too limited, with only one show per day and very short time slots, so we often missed out.

My kids have been really into Club Med lately, so we decided to include a trip to Bintan Island during our Singapore vacation. The sea was incredibly rough this time of year. I usually never get seasick, but I was so uncomfortable I seriously regretted coming here. To make matters worse, before we even left, they wouldn't let us book the hotel's pier transfer shuttle (claiming it had to be booked seven days in advance, which was ridiculous). So, my initial impression before checking in was really not great at all. Thankfully, after we arrived on the island, the driver we found ourselves was very good, which helped calm my irritated mood quite a bit. Checking in at the hotel lobby was also very smooth. We were assisted by a Chinese-speaking GO who was very nice and explained the check-in process clearly. At that moment, I finally started to feel that vacation joy. Over the three days, my kids had a blast with their Club Med activities, as usual. As for the parents, we just spent our time eating and drinking. The beach was beautiful, and the overall environment was very comfortable and relaxing. We stayed in a renovated room, and the bathroom was noticeably much better with plenty of hot water. The only issue was the safe suddenly started beeping non-stop at 2 AM, so I had to call the front desk in the middle of the night. The staff member came quite quickly to resolve the problem, which I appreciated.

All-inclusive with great service. The only downside is that the waves are too big in winter, so you can't go out to sea. It's better to visit in the summer. There are lots of activities every day, and plenty of party events in the evenings too. They're currently renovating a building.

The hotel facilities seem quite old. Although I stayed in a renovated superior room this time, the air conditioning noise was really loud, especially at night, making it hard to sleep. The room was also very damp unless I turned the AC temperature down and the fan speed to the highest setting. The Wi-Fi network in the room and throughout the hotel was unstable, constantly disconnecting. The TV in the room only worked on the day of check-in; after that, it showed 'no network.' I tried to call the front desk using the room phone, but it was just for show and couldn't make calls or be used properly. The hygiene was average. The environment was average. The service was average, and they were overly solicitous towards foreigners. Overall, an all-inclusive package sounds hassle-free in theory, but in terms of actual experience, considering the price, service, and food quality, it simply doesn't measure up.

Upon our arrival, everything felt new and unfamiliar. The language, the rules, the environment, even our sense of direction – we were slowly trying to find our bearings... Fortunately, we met Edward, who became our first friend here. As first-time visitors to this island, we were quite clueless about many things. He patiently welcomed us and explained everything in detail. No matter how busy he was, he always responded to my questions and requests promptly and did his best to help resolve any issues. When our child accidentally got hurt in the pool, he showed genuine concern, like an older brother, advising us on what to do. This made us feel the warmth of home, even though we were far away in a foreign land. We also want to thank Fenny, whom I met at the front desk when extending our stay. My English isn't fluent, and her presence was like a lifeline. She patiently bridged the communication gap for us. During a critical moment, she helped us change our boat tickets and adjust our room. Everything was handled smoothly and efficiently, instantly easing our anxiety. Her meticulous and thoughtful service made us feel completely at ease. And then there's William, the bartender. He doesn't just mix drinks; he tells a story with each cocktail. Every time he served a drink, he patiently described its flavors and aromas. His sunny disposition, professionalism, and sincerity added a special warmth to the evening. Also, Wisnu from the coffee shop. Every time we saw him, he greeted us with a genuine, heartfelt smile. His smile had a magical power, like a sea breeze, sweeping away the fatigue of travel and the worries of life. And a big thank you to the acrobats who brought us such delightful surprises in the evening. With their breathtaking and precise movements, they kept the audience spellbound, holding their breath and cheering constantly. I know that behind every performance lies countless hours of training and sweat, perseverance and refinement after numerous falls and recoveries. It is their dedication and passion that truly captivated us and brought a fresh sense of wonder to our evenings abroad. Their professionalism and artistic pursuit are truly admirable! Thank you for illuminating our holiday with your spectacular performances. Finally, I must circle back to Edward. Without his recommendation and assistance, we might not have arrived at this resort so smoothly. We had considered other places along the way, but his enthusiastic and sincere descriptions of how wonderful and special this place is truly moved us, making us ultimately decide to come here. While the resort's accommodation might not be absolutely perfect, its minor flaws are completely overshadowed by the exceptional staff. Having such dedicated, cheerful, and patient employees makes everything wonderful and heartwarming. This is a blessing for the resort, and even more so for us guests! I believe Club Med Bintan Island will only get better, and we will certainly recommend it to more friends. Wishing everyone we met here a brighter future. ❤️ Yolanda

The room was a bit dated, but the location was excellent and the overall hotel service was great.

Super suitable for families with kids, we'll definitely come back next time.
