Motel 6 Biloxi, MS - Beach

Biloxi|0.76km from Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center
When looking for a place to evacuate to due to Hurricane Ida we were looking for pet friendly hotels. The Motel 6 Biloxi Beach is pet friendly so we booked two rooms. Being pet friendly is definitely a positive. However, that is about all I can write that is positive about this hotel. The hotel states it was recently renovated. Some parts looks like it needs some serious renovations again. It was not secure because the key cards did not work in most of the outside doors. However, there was one door that was always open so people could come and go. The rooms were very small and basic. The hallways smelled of **** the whole six days we were there. And the majority of rooms are non-smoking. Some of the staff were very nice but were overwhelmed due to staff shortages. The garbage cans were overflowing. They did have an area where you could walk your dogs but no poop bags. There was poop all over the place. As I began this review I was glad they were there to accommodate our pets, but this hotel is in need of serious upgrades and change in management. What was also disturbing was that the nightly rates as it got closer to Labor Day was over $200.00. I met some very nice people while we were there. Many who were low income and had serious damage to their homes due to Ida. But many told me they could not afford the rate being charged. Some told me they were just going to go home and stay in their damaged homes without any power because they did not have the money even for a Motel 6. Just the week before the rate was around $150.00. I know it was a holiday weekend but many staying at the hotel were evacuees. You would think they would have given them a break!!!

Telephone in the room wasn't working. The houseman knocked on our door at 10:40 to ask if we were going to check out or stay over, which he acknowledged that it wasn't check out time yet but he needed to know. I told him we woke up late and was trying to call the front desk to see if we could get an extra 30 minutes to check out and he stated that he didn't have anything to do with that (Rude). At exactly 11 a very unprofessional housekeeper name Crystal knocked on the door to say it's pass check out time and demanded we exit the room within 5 minutes or I wouldn't get my deposit back. We exited the room semi-dressed to be met by other guest leaving & fussing about how rude the same housekeeper was to them and they would never stay again. I told Crystal that she had very poor customer service and she said, ”that's how we like it around here”. I made a complaint to the front desk and the clerk apologized, which I appreciated it but the apology should have came from Crystal. I told the clerk I was trying to call the front desk with my cell phone when I got up to request a late check out but it said all circuits are busy. She told me the phone lines were down all morning. (SMH) I will NEVER stay here again!

This place is awesome! Pearl at the front desk was so helpful and friendly as were all the personnel. They pool is such a good place to relax. We could see the pool from our room . The room was so clean and much more than expected. No carpet! The floor was wood or maybe LVP. It was so nice. We happened to be there at the time that MS police officers were having a conference. I think it is called S.T.O.R.M. This hotel is in a very good area. The free hot breakfast was really good. They had eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, waffle makers and oatmeal packets, dry cereal, yogurt, fruit. So good. I would rate this place with 5 stars!!! Would definitely like to stay there again.

For extra breakfast, the hotel only offers two small bottles of water, and extra money is required. Casinos are not too big, and some people help stop. Hotel security is very safe everywhere.

Oak Manor Biloxi is our go to spot. Customer Service is top notch. Rooms and Hotel are very clean. Complimentary Breakfast is ok could use a step up but all in all it’s manageable. If You choose Waffle House is across the Parking Lot and a huge hit for us. Give Oak Manor a try I’m sure they will not disappoint.

Stayed here a couple of nights. The location is good and easy to get to. The room was good. Nothing spectacular. I never stayed at a ****** before and was unimpressed with that aspect. Just not my thing. Overall I felt the hotel was good, needed renovation and just not worth the price.
