This is a hotel that we had chosen because of its 5-star standard so we had expectations in accordance. Upon checking in we were driven to our room in a golf cart. So far so goodwe had Issues with electricity , WiFi , only 1 towel all in all in the bathroom( I travel with my husband) we had to call reception several times to arrange this. Our first very negative impression was : the room itself. Seemed like it was unfinished and yet already large stains on furniture, linen was grayish as were the towels. Shower is unacceptably filthy. ( I have enclosed pictures to illustrate this, see for yourselves. ) But only then did the real nightmare begin. We had arrived early ( 4 pm) to be able to quietly relax by the pool for an hour or two. As we were getting ready, all of a sudden deafening music and loudspeaker yelling were all over the room. We found out that there was a pool party going on , a corporate event with more than hundred people . We tried to make it to the pool, impossible . A stage with huge loudspeakers and entertainers had been set up, it was music, food, yelling , Dozens of people in the pool, around the pool , in the gardens and the absolute deafening sound. We hit back to our room, where the music was equally deafening and very stressful , asked what this was all about and when it would be over. Were told 6 pm. At 7, nothing had changed . We were brought 2 beers to our room and some snacks . The front desk ***ager Mr Syed came to see us , offered another room a bit further away from the noise . We accepted to have a look at that room but it was in no way better, the noise was everywhere. So we decided to stay in our room. He now promised all would stop at 7:30…but would start again at 9:30 until 11:30. He also offered to have dinner in a separate place, not with the hundreds of party-goers. That’s what we did . Again we ***aged to order some beer with our dinner. That was the only nice and quiet parenthesis we had during our stay. After dinner, back in our rooms, the party and the music and the people yelling in the mics, it all resumed … until way past midnight ( 0:30 am). We couldn’t get any sleep before that time. So the next morning the only thing we wanted is to leave this place as soon as possible. Breakfast room was still dirty from the previous evening, litter, paper and plastic on floor and tables. Upon checking out, my husband had told Mr Syed That we expected a minimum of respect and that a discount or a gesture like offering the drinks was the least they could do. Well, believe it or not but it was NO. No refund , no apologies, no commercial effort. We politely paid our bill and were relieved to leave. We felt exhausted, angry and disrespected .after 3 weeks of travelling through India, where we have stayed at beautiful hotels, with nice, friendly and helpful staff, this is just the worst place and the worst memory of our whole travel. I can only recommend one thing : forget this place. Run.
