Spent a couple of nights at the hotel. The location is good – only a few minutes’ walk from the train station. The hotel is not bad and I would certainly give it 3 stars. But I don’t see how this hotel deserves 4 stars. The lobby is dull and empty. The staff seemed a bit bored. Upon arrival, the room was clean and spacious but the bathroom was old (and with no shampoo, body lotion etc. provided as I would expect from a 4-star hotel). During my stay only the bed was made. The room was not cleaned and not even fresh toilet paper was provided.

Rooms are dated with dents and stains, reception is never staffed and one always has to wait (also reception couldn't help with Wifi issues so remained unresolved), the coffee machine had old capsules in it (no idea how long they were in there...). Overall a major disappointed and unsure what justifies the price here.

I am extremely disappointed in the guest hospitality services of Hotel Elite. Certainly not befitting to an ‘4 star’ hotel, more like 1 or 2 star! And for such a price! After forgetting a personal article in the room, I contacted the hotel the very next day to schedule a pick up. (As I live abroad, hoped to avoid them mailing it.) There was an incredible amount of apathy to my situation (apart from the reception not picking up the phone) and only after about 40 phone calls, did they inform me tersely the article hadn’t been found! This couldn’t be true, as I know for a fact, that I had left it in the hotel bathroom. This could only mean that the item was simply discarded, or was taken by the housekeeping. I have wasted a good deal of time and effort, as well as lost an expensive possession. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, consumers beware!!

I had to call a number listed on the front desk phone to get a staff member to appear and check me in, and that was the last time I saw anyone at the front desk during my entire stay (including check out, as you prepay upon arrival and just drop your keys in a box upon departure). The hotel is centrally located and just a block from the train station, and my small suite was very comfortable, clean, quiet, tastefully decorated in modern art deco style, and reasonably priced. The breakfast available in the top floor dining room was more than adequate. So, I would rate this as a good place to stay based on location, room, and pricing -- but if you need a bellman, concierge, room service, or any service at all beyond housekeeping, this is not the place to find it.

Rooms need refurbishing. internet did not work. Hotel receptionists were not so friendly. Only person who was very nice was the lady taking care of the breakfast buffet. Price was too high: 188 CHF for one night.
