Novotel Berlin Mitte

Novotel Berlin Mitte

Berlin|1.7km from Koppenplatz
In summary: Superb breakfast, good rooms, pretty good location (but there are better in Berlin), a few details could be improved. Good value for money. Accor has a huge range of hotels in Berlin, this is for them a midrange offering. The rooms are of reasonable size, I had a huge bathroom, minibar and room safe. Very clean. Bed surprisingly comfortable. Free wifi good enough for video streaming (there's also 'premium wifi' you can pay for). TV and heating controls fussy. Shower gel holder in the bathroom remained empty throughout my four day stay though there was liquid soap by the sink. Reading lights in room below average. Reception friendly, a little chaotic. The hotel restaurant is open in the evenings, snacks and drinks available after hours. Locked luggage storage next to reception. Breakfast is really nice - great coffee and fruit juice, all the rest as you would expect including some cold fish dishes. One level below an 'omelette bar' status but still pretty good for this price level of hotel. Location in Berlin Mitte is pretty good - they're two U-Bahn stations and several bus stops within a few minutes' walk, even though some of the bus schedules are a bit disappointing. Nikolaiviertel is 5 minutes walk away and if you increase your walking time to 15 minutes you can get to Alexanderplatz and Museuminsel easily enough. There are better location hotels in Mitte but it's quite OK really. Good value for money; rates vary quite a bit by day of the week (so if your travel days are flexible play around with your stay dates). I generally stay either more downmarket or more upmarket than this but it's interesting to see how a midrange hotel works - quite OK, though as often in this category of hotel proactive detail management doesn't get priority. I would recommend.

The Circus Hotel

Berlin|0.27km from Koppenplatz
Many reasons make the Circus Hotel in Rosenthal the best choice for your stay in Berlin. The room is simple but stylishly decorated, so is the bathroom, with a large shower (we stayed in the standard room). We stayed here for 9 nights and our sheets and pillow towels were changed for two days without our request. Breakfast is included in the already competitive room rate, although they say it is a “simple buffet”, but we still feel there are plenty of options and far enough to meet your day trip! The restaurant and yard are beautiful and relaxing, a great place to start your day. There is free online internet in the room, which is helpful - they can even borrow a laptop for you. We didn't actually use much of the facilities they provided - they got your iPod with local songs, books and DVDs and DVD players ready for your arrival; free sanitary ware, if you need it; tickets to the nearby yoga studio and pool, and a jogging route map; You can rent bikes and Segway Thinking cars; there are discount scalpers tickets - but make sure you know there are there, usually not much money, if you want. They also have a lot of unusual tours every four weeks (free), to the Amberhof airport, bunkers and far from the smoke - Jim took us to the 1936 Olympic Village, which is not on the usual Brandenburg tour - and we never went on our own There. The hotel location is also very suitable for sightseeing - just at the junction of Mitt and Prenzlauberg, walk to Hack Market - 10 minutes, walk to Alexandria Square 15-20 minutes. Rosenthal Square Metro Station (U8 Line) is at the door, there are also bus and tram stops. But to be honest, it is very convenient to walk to most of the attractions. 10-20 There are many shops, bars and restaurants within a minute's walk - you can also see some in Frederick Shopping Street and Potsdam Square, but much better around the Circus Hotel! The Circus hotel is really ahead of its competitors and most other hotels I have stayed in before are its staff. They are very polite, friendly and helpful, and speak English well (I can imagine some other foreign languages as well). The front desk clerk gave us a warm, easygoing and informative impression, which set a good tone for our entire stay. The restaurant staff were also very smart and welcoming. In short, we don't feel there is any problem, and they will definitely do their best to answer your questions. When we left, their greetings were like when we came, we were very reluctant to walk out of the gate and walk down the steps to enter the subway station. The hotel is definitely full marks in all aspects. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

The location of the hotel is very good, with a subway/tram station next to it, and convenient transportation. There are many shopping shops nearby, and it is not far from the Haak Market. It is very convenient to eat, drink and play. The room is large, there is a hidden induction cooker, and there are kitchen utensils in the cabinet, which is very suitable for friends who want to cook for themselves. I really like the washing and care products in the room. The soap is black, which is very special.

I have seen many hotels in Berlin and this one is by far the cleanest/most hygenic one! Especially now during Corona times, they literally send their cleaning team to sanitize door handles etc. every hour and they have a full no-contact check-in and check-out system that works by a telephone service that is always there for you. The cozy rooms and excellent location at Rosethaler Platz makes the stay just perfect. A secret tip: ask for one of their ”signature rooms”, created by local Berlin artists (no additional costs charged). Definitely a recommendation for everyone!

24/7 on-site staff, daily cleaning, clean rooms, beautiful balcony, and great in-room services. Overall my absolute favorite place to stay in Berlin! My friend was able to book a suite directly over mine and we could take the outside staircase to one another's rooms. Loved my stay!

Nice hotel, beautiful and clean, very good price. The position is super, near the metro and Alexanderplatz. Very easy to reach from the airport. We didn't had breackfast at the hotel so I don't know how it is.
