The location is very good. There is a underground and bus station nearby. It’s somewhat close to the zoo and shopping area. There are many restaurants and cafes around it. The staffs are friendly. The room is spacious. However, it is a little old and towels seem to have not been changed for a while. Overall, it is still worth the money. I would stay there again.

It’s hard to know where to start with a review of this hotel but I would sum it up with as being genuinely the worst hotel experience of my life. The staff at this hotel are some of the rudest aggressive people I have ever met. I booked a family room through *********** for 2 adults and 2 children for our stay during the Berlin Marathon in Sept 23. The cost was £600 for 2 nights. Upon arriving at the hotel I was told that the family rooms only hold 3 people. I showed them my booking confirmation which said 4 people(!) and asked for their help to find a solution. The receptionist shrugged and handed me a card machine. She said that I could book an additional room for an extra £300. I explained that I did not want to do this. This is when the reception team became aggressive. Tatiana deserves a special mention for leaning over the counter and shouting at me ‘YOU HAVE MADE A MISTAKE, I TOLD YOU SO, IT’S YOUR MISTAKE, YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE, ITS OUR POLICY, YOUR MISTAKE HAS TO COST YOU MONEY’. This went on and on, despite my attempts to kindly and calmly ask for her help. It took many phone calls to *********** but they were AMAZING. I can’t praise them enough. They supported me the whole time and when they tried (and failed) themselves to reason with the hotel they agreed to open a formal investigation. They knew the mistake was with the hotel and they could prove it. I booked my rooms in June. The hotel changed their occupancy policy for family rooms in July. I spoke to a senior manager and technical director who informed me that they had numerous complaints listed against this hotel – customers who had booked balcony rooms but weren’t given balconies, mini-bars promised which never materialised, breakfast paid for in advance and then refused. My complaint was the last in a long long list. Because the mistake was the hotels, *********** also agreed that I shouldn’t pay more to stay there. They booked the extra room for me without me needing to pay a penny. Fellow travellers….Berlin is amazing, what a great city. A city full of great people. There are thousands of hotels in Berlin run by people who deserve your money. Artim Hotel do not deserve your money. I would urge you to book anywhere literally anywhere else.

Hotel Artim claims to have four stars. However I fail to see how. Staff in reception is generally rude and uninviting. Towels very low quality. Storage of dirty and clean towels are in the hallway outside room. When cleaning, only very basics are done. I booked with breakfast. Staff also confirmed this at check-in. Next morning, same lady told me her computer said I had not booked breakfast. I, of course, showed her my confirmation including this. For 10 minutes she kept discussing this, despite the fact that I showed her my confirmation 3 times. No sign of trying to be service minded or forthcoming. All in all not the best experience with this hotel!

My daughter has arrived from UK today, one day ahead of me, and has been asked to pay for the entire stay in advance. No problem except it is me who has to pay as it's a weekend away gift from me! My daughter called me from the reception area and whilst I was on the phone she explained to the receptionist that 'my mother would like to talk with you to arrange payment'. I could hear the answer. It was one word "NO". I had to phone the hotel myself and the same woman spoke to me saying that she refuses to take my credit card details to accept payment over the phone, despite a colleague who I could hear in the background saying that she could take payment over the phone. There was no courtesy, no politeness or friendliness - indeed the opposite - curt, unhelpful and unfriendly. A zero from me and I haven't even arrived yet. I wonder if it's something to do with the colour of my daughter's skin or are the hotel staff are this discourteous and unhelpful to all their customers?

For the astonishing price this hotel charges, I was not expecting juice from ‘concentrate’ but freshly squeezed and the scramble eggs were revolting soaked in ‘water’. I will not visit this hotel ever again.

It's a perfectly serviceable hotel in what I consider to be a very convenient location. The staff are pleasant and effective, the breakfast is quite tasty, and the rooms are decently sized, modern, and very clean. The fact that the hotel doesn't have air conditioning is a bit of problem, and I imagine it's going to become even more of a problem as time goes on since the old "well, they have huge windows and it never REALLY gets the hot in northern Europe anyway" line simply doesn't hold true anymore in any predictable way. I mean seriously: woe unto you if you end up staying here for several nights during a genuine summer heatwave. But during the fall, winter, and spring I think it would be an unquestionably good choice for pretty much anyone looking for a nice place stay in Berlin.
