Lulu Guldsmeden

Really chilled hotel, some lovely touches, super comfortable beds with single quilts, love that idea...eco toiletries etc. We were in a loft room with a swing which my daughter loved...not as much room as it looks online, entry hallway needs a light, couldn't see in my suitcase there, had to move it to the window. Loft stair ladder very steep, quite dangerous if getting up in the dark at night. Overall a good option, handy for Potsdamer plate, Checkpoint Charlie and Brandenburg gate...

Very cute, charming hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A lot of common space which was great as we were with a group. Coffee service in the lobby was definitely a nice perk. Great location with many options for restaurants nearby and Berlin’s main sights easily accessible

We were disappointed, having stayed at 66 Guldesman in Copenhagen. There the atmosphere is a warm skandi “hygge” vibe. There is an open fire blankets and the breakfast is amazing. Unfortunately the experience was different at this hotel. The rooms are cramped and the bathroom very small. Didnt like the Balinese decor. Would have preferred “skandi” again. The communal areas also feel cramped and there is not enough communal seating. The foyer and breakfast area was freezing cold and other people were complaining about that. The breakfast was minimal to say the least and on the first day the eggs and were cold, we were surprised to find they didn’t have a toaster. The drinks were okay but served very slowly indeed.

Probably the worse breakfast in town, the Hotel is quite good but forget the breakfast, half an hour for a cold cappuccino and a piece of strong bread and a something call “pancake”. I forgot the yogurt with muesli for 10€ !

This was definitely a friendly hotel in a great part of town. The rooms are cute, but small. There is a nice lobby, a courtyard, and tables in front by the sidewalk to relax. They serve breakfast (at 24 Euros we preferred the Bakery a half a block away), beer, wine, etc., and also coffee. Free candy and fresh fruit in the lobby make you feel appreciated. The staff was incredibly friendly and outdid themselves to accommodate all wishes. If you get there before check-in and the room is ready, they give you early access. Lots of little restaurants all around, we especially enjoyed the little place "Mahlzeit" a couple of blocks away.

This hotel did NOT disappoint! Wonderful staff, atmosphere and rooms! Stayed in a loft for 4, which was just right for our family. Bus stop right out the front door helps get you started in the right direction on your day’s adventure! Highly recommend!

My stay was absolutely fantastic! The staff was super kind and helpful. They have lockers and a room for early bag drop off if you arrive early. The rooms were very comfortable and the building was cozy, beautiful, and a nice place to come home to after exploring. I wish they had dinners, but there was a great Vietnamese restaurant around the corner and a fantastic, beautiful brunch place a block or two up the street. They do serve breakfast and drinks. I loved everything about my stay here. It was also easy to walk to catch buses and trains along the same street.

I stayed at Lulu Guldsmeden for two nights during a business trip. The hotel is not so near to some sightseeing things and the neighborhood seems also not super attractive but the bus station is right infront of the hotel which is very convenient. The hotel has a sustainable conceot and mind which is very nice and I liked it. My room was very spacious and all facilities were gread: fast warm water, clean rooms and nice selection of shampoo, body wash, soaps etc. What I really can point out was the bed which was super nice to sleep in, just the pillows were to thin but not a big issue. I liked staying here and the staff was also very nice.

I’m perplexed by the good reviews of this hotel. The decor is cute, the free candy is fun, and it’s in an emerging area near Potzdamer Platz, but that’s where the positives end. The staff is absolutely clueless at best and actively rude at worst. Their website says they offer laundry, so we picked light, but the front desk attendant looked shocked and then offended when we asked for the service. She hemmed and hawed and sighed and suggested we spend our holiday at the public laundromat before finally saying, “We’ll figure it out and make it right - it is our obligation - but I don’t know the cost.” That cost? €89 upon checkout for a pair of jeans, a few t-shirts, and some underthings. Bathroom cleanliness could use work - I spotted hairs all over the floor - and the room layout was poor with limited natural light due to the loft painted black. Bedding had stains and piling fabrics. Perhaps this place was stylish and fun once, but now it’s shabby and the service is indifferent and rude.
