MEININGER Hotel Berlin East Side Gallery

I stayed here with a friend for just one night as we were attending a concert at the Uber arena. Great location if you are going to the arena, it’s only a 10 minute walk away if even that! It’s also across the road from a train station which you can get a direct train to the airport from. All the staff on reception were so friendly and helpful when we checked in and also when we had any questions. We paid €15 each for early check in and late check out which was really helpful for us. Our room was on the 8th floor - it was spacious and quiet, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean with a good shower. The bathroom also had underfloor heating which was a nice surprise. We didn’t even notice that it’s a hotel/hostel tbh as we had a private room just for the two of us, the 8th floor was really quiet and we didn’t notice any big groups or anything. The staff were also really helpful when the lockers wouldn’t work and we wanted to store our bags for the day. We would definitely stay again, thank you!

We really liked the hostel/hotel. We travelled as a family of five and stayed in a six person dormitory. The accommodation is clean, modern, and well maintained. We will try more Meininger Hostels.

The barman with blue hair is not friendly.

Great experience. It is a hotel with a good location as it has the train and metro station right next to it. Close to the Wall and from where you can take one of the hopon-hopoff bus lines. The room is big enough for children, with a bunk bed and a double bed. Good food service and bar.

They woke my hotel room up at 2 am accusing us of stealing a madress or something like that, telling us they saw it on the camera and started yelling at us (we are 16 years old) I will never visit this hotel again. We told the guy in charge with the Beard that he should check the cameras so he could see that we had nothing to do with it and that we didn’t Even leave the room but he started arguing saying we were wrong and cussing at us

The hotel was somewhat clean, my issues were that the rooms were very warm and without any sort of air con it was uncomfortable. Washing machines were broken and the staff at the bar would not give us any ice, would be great to have a fridge also.

Stayed here for four nights in Sept. Great location for the train station and Uber Area is only a ten min walk. Arrived early so was able to store my luggage, €4/24 hours. Got back to the hotel later in the evening. My room was stifling and as it was warm outside the window being open was no advantage. There was a vent in the room, thought it was for air conditioning but it wasn't working. Went to reception, the lady said she would get maintenance to come up. He arrived very promptly, took off the grid and explained that it is working, just very little flow of air coming out. It's not air con, just a fan. Afterward, at times, I could feel some air coming from it. I wasn't sure how good I would sleep for the coming nights. The ensuite was lovely, great shower. I kept the window curtain closed when I was out during the day and this cooled the room down. I l slept great. I didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on that. The bar was fine. All in all a great stay and would stay here again when visiting Berlin.

I stayed at a hostel in Berlin called MEININGER Berlin East Side Gallery, for 3 nights (from dec 28th to dec 31st). I really appreciated the place. It has a good location, close to the train and bus station. I was in a room with three bunk beds quite comfortable, it had a bathroom in the room with good toiletries. The staff was always polite and friendly. The service was really good, available all the time, and it's possible to arrive there at dawn. I really recommend this hostel and I'd definitely come back.
