Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley Reviews

Avoid this hotel at all costs! Internal staff theft! And the hotel management handled it terribly! We checked in on March 23rd during the day, and when we returned to our room at 10 PM that night, we found the suitcase we had left in the living room was gone! We initially thought the housekeeper might have mistakenly taken it, thinking it belonged to a previous guest. So we immediately went to the front desk to inquire, hoping it was at the hotel's lost and found. But after waiting for over an hour, it still hadn't been found by 1 AM. The next morning, a different shift of staff came on, checked the entry records and surveillance footage, and after two hours of back and forth, the suitcase was still missing. Finally, on the third morning, at 11:30 AM, hotel staff brought the suitcase to us. We opened it right then and there, and it was completely empty! The hotel admitted that internal staff had engaged in theft, and the guest had lost all their valuables! We strongly suspect the hotel had found the suitcase much earlier but deliberately delayed returning it because they couldn't explain what happened, not to mention wasting our precious vacation time instead of solving the problem. This must be their strategy! We have already filed complaints with Marriott Group and Trip.com, and we will be posting this on all public platforms!!! Four days have passed, and the hotel has only stalled and given us the runaround. They have never proactively contacted us or offered any reasonable solution!

Very nice clean with extremely friendly staff and amazing breakfasWe thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit. The establishment was remarkably spotless, which we truly appreciated. Furthermore, the team members were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast offerings were also quite delightful. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

The hotel room was spacious and clean, and the suite had a fully equipped kitchen.

Top choice in town. But getting pricy and difficult to book since some units were converted student housing.

Location is good with bart station just a few minutes walk away. Service is friendly & prompt.

Got upgraded to the 2 bedrooms suite which was very spacious, perfect for a family of 4.

Apart from the valet parking ($40+tax+tip/day), everything else about this hotel is good.

Even the room comes with the kitchen and amenities for cooking, you don’t have to really cook your breakfast as it’s included - enough to start your day off

Located in the center of Berkeley with spacious room offering all new amenities for a complete kitchen, dining space and well decorated bedroom with high quality bedding linens. Excellent breakfast is another plus. I would definitely go back to this hotel!
