My positive experience already started directly after I completed my booking on the hotel‘s website. I emailed the hotel a few times prior to my arrival, and the reply was always prompt, concise yet thorough. Upon arrival, it was a nice check-in touch to have our bags brought up inconspicuously (with coats already hung in the closet) while we sat in the lovely garden drinking our welcome Sekt (hats up to the hotel for offering a non-alcoholic one, as well). We booked one of the 2 „wellness rooms“ with a free-standing bathtub. The rooms are modern, well-appointed, spacious yet cozy and had a nice balcony overlooking the pool (don’t forget your bathing suits during warm weather). The rooms don’t have AC, and although the bathrooms had nice MoltonBrown products and a nice Dyson hairdryer, I was surprised that the shower only supplied Shampoo and BodyWash but no Conditioner, which seemed odd for a boutique hotel. With that said, the lack of Air/Hair Conditioner was a tiny issue during my stay. The spa area in the basement level was small but very nice. There’s a chill area by the pool that is ideal for relaxing on warm days. I booked my room with a 4 course dinner, which was especially nice because Nelson himself was not only there, but he also came over, talked to us and gave us a glass of wine on the house.….don’t forget to reserve a table. Something to note: on the day we checked out, the hotel celebrated its 1st birthday with a party for 300 invited, „high society“ guests (yes, we saw a red carpet), yet we never had a feeling that there was ever a lack of attention for the guests, which was super impressive considering all the preparations being done for the event. Even during breakfast (which was phenomenal, by the way) we saw so much happening on the grounds, but it was all done in the background to make sure the hotel guests weren’t disturbed. All in all, it’s a fabulous small boutique hotel with an attentive, professional staff and all located in a picturesque, nature-reserve environment.
