I went to the Fairplay Golf & Spa Resort to scout a location for several interested golf groups in the United States. To my delight, the first person I ran into was the owner who was in a conversation with someone. I asked if he would take a moment to talk with me after they finished. Evidently, this gentleman is not interested in Amercian golf tourists as he never took the time to join me on the terraza. Good luck Sir. If this is how your treat your guests, we will not be visiting your facility.

A beautiful resort, amazing food but wasted rooms, stains on pillows, dirty glasses in the room and sadly none amenities apart from soap and shampoo. The bed is hard as a rock. We found a little worm on the floor on arrival, but taking in consideration is near the golf course I assume this is possible. They also didn't updated their offer in booking and they didn't warned us the spa access is not free. We were left on our birthday + wedding anniversary with that sad surprise and despite showing them they changed the information on the go and while calling them on the phone they simply said they don't care and blame booking they were liars. The facilities are very comfortable but if it rains prepare your umbrella because all rooms are accessible walking and there's nowhere to cover. They offer us a bottle of champagne but we don't drink alcohol and the alternative was water (not a good detail). It's in the middle of nowhere so despite being close to the town there's not much more to do rather than paying to access all the interesting facilities. On the overall, they are only interested in big customers paying for golf experiences. The personal is very nice and they did their best to help us sadly they have limited resources.

A fantastic experience in a wonderful hotel set in a beautiful remote part of Andalucia. Everything about our visit was top class from the moment we arrived to our departure. All the staff we met were so friendly, welcoming and professional. Our suite was beautiful, the pool and garden area was very nice and relaxing. We all enjoyed our dining experiences with the breakfasts and dinners being a gastronomic treat. The golf course situated so close to the hotel was in fantastic condition and my friends and I really had a great time playing it both days. Suffice to say we are booked to return twice in 2024 and are really looking forward to our visits.

We have stayed here several times, and we will return as we believe it to be one of the better, if not best, golf hotel/resort in Andalucia. The rooms are large and very well appointed. The golf course is really excellent. Great layout and always in good condition. Service is always great. Staff very friendly. Free parking under the hotel. Very peaceful area with stunning views of the country. However, on this visit there were two big issues for us. 1. The spa was shut. This was just a one night stay with a round of golf on the 2nd day. We arrived early on the first day to specifically use the Spa. I appreciate that maintenence needs to be done on occasions but it should be advertised or made clear when booking. There is not a lot to do there (outdoor pool was also closed but that is understandable for Januaray) and we would not have booked if we had known the spa was shut. 2. Due to the small number of people using the hotel, the usual buffet restaurant was not open. The buffet is normally excellent, so this was a disappointment for us especially as we had pre paid for it. We were offered the al la carte menu in the bar, which was very good value but food was average.

Just finished a week stay at Fairplay. Loved it ! It’s a 2 hour drive from Malaga, and located at the top of a hill overlooking miles of valley. Fantastic views. Lovely welcome when we arrived. Our room was in patio 7, which is furthest from reception, overlooking hole 10. No noise at all. Room was spacious, with a large comfortable bed, separate living room and lots of space for luggage. Wi-Fi wasn’t great initially, so we were provided with our own booster. Great ! We were on a special rate, half board plus drinks in the evening. The restaurant was buffet, which we usually avoid, but actually was really nice. They cook your main course while you wait, and there’s something different every evening. Absolutely fine for a week. The golf course is gorgeous! The maintenance is ongoing constantly, and is really good shape. Fairways were wide and quite forgiving. There’s no apparent club members, so no issue getting tee times whenever you want. In fact, in the afternoon times, there’s virtually no one on the course. Great if you’re not a confident player. Course management was excellent. There were a couple of golfer groups while we were there, but no disturbance for us. We absolutely loved our visit and are planning to return again soon.
