The Bristol Belgrade

I had mixed feelings about my stay. First, the positives: the staff were outstanding. The front desk team, concierge, and everyone I interacted with were genuinely friendly, professional, and eager to help. They were easily the highlight of my stay and deserve recognition. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t live up to what I’d expect from a 5-star hotel. At check-in, I asked if there was an option to upgrade to a better room. I was shown a Superior Room, but it overlooked construction, so I chose to keep my original Deluxe Room. After checking in, I immediately noticed a strong smell in the room. I reported it, and a staff member came to inspect it, saying it would take a few hours to resolve. At that point, I expected the hotel to proactively move me to another comparable room. Instead, there was no apology, and I was eventually moved to a much smaller room without the bathtub that my original room had. Since the process had already taken quite a while, I decided not to push the issue further. The excellent staff made a positive impression, but the way this situation was handled fell short of the standard I’d expect from a 5-star property.
