Dunkeld East Hotel

All I can say is "WOW". From the speedy and efficient booking done via Michael, to the comfortable room and professional service from the dining area, Dunkeld East has outweigh our highest expectations and we will definitely return to come and visit again. The beautiful landscape and being surrounded by different bird species were breathtaking and we loved the ducks at the dam; so beautiful and precious. Thank you also to all the service staff in keeping the rooms neat, tidy and clean and for everyone's courtesy towards your guests, even to the friendly security guard at the entrance gate. Thank you for a very special, memorable stay in Dullstroom.

A beautiful, quaint 10-room hotel. The setting and rooms are lovely. I just did not like an open toilet without a door in the room or frosting on the glass. The location is top-notch, and sitting on the balcony overlooking the dam was tranquil and peaceful. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, and all the staff were friendly and helpful, just a tad slow due to a staff member to little.

The hotel is beautiful and the location is the best The staff and management were helpful and friendly However, the room are not conducive for longer stay, the toilet is not enclosed, very uncomfortable to use, when there are two people in the room. There is also no proper sitting inside the unit for relaxing. There was no bottled water provided in the room or information on safety of the water for consumption. The establishment can do well to provide information on places of attraction in the area The food was great, but during dinner on the 2nd day, there was a cockroach on my table otherwise we had a great time

Dunkeld East was a breath of fresh air. It’s a hidden treasure set amongst the trees with beautiful dams surrounding it. We especially enjoyed walking in the forest and the fly fishing was also great. We loved the sunset kayaking and hearing the fish eagles in the distance. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.

The experience was incredible. Myself and my girlfriend went for the weekend after a very hectic business trip and so we were on the market for a well priced luxury mental cleanser. This trip was was perfect. We are big fans of the Touch Down Group's properties and this one did not disappoint, and I won't even get started with the salivating worthy food's! Well done team!

We had the most incredible time, the rooms are beautiful, the food is great and the views are out of this world. We loved the new addition of the boat house. The rowboat experience is too beautiful. We recommend the picnic in the forest - an experience like no other and the set-ups are stunning!

My husband and I haven’t had any breaks in 2024, so we decided to spoil ourselves with luxury breakaway at ‘luxury’ accommodation in Dullstroom for a romantic long weekend. We booked out a day earlier - need I say more? The pin on Google maps took us on a very dodgy, dark road that didn’t even lead to the accommodation, but rather deep into the woods. If we weren’t in a 4x4 there would have been severe damage to the tyres and shocks. When we arrived at the premises, the gate was locked (this was around 7pm), with a handwritten note on a wet paper saying ‘please call me’ and an illegible number. Eventually the guard came to the gate to open up after being away from his post for who knows why. The staff were uninterested in serving us and the general manager was on leave over a busy long weekend. The cleaning lady asked us to leave our room key with her to clean during the day while we were out in town (leaving all out valuables and personal items in our room). In effect this meant that we had a dirty room for 4 days, as we refused to leave our key with staff. The general dining area is aesthetically beautiful, but the staff played loud (non-tranquil) music during dinner and breakfast, spoiling the serene atmosphere one would hope for in an establishment like this. All in all, our experience was far below the expectation created by a 4-star boutique hotel and we decided to go home earlier, as it was cleaner, more pleasant and more comfortable than Dunkeld East Hotel.

Relaxing weekend with good friends The place to go to get away from it all and relax. All the staff very friendly, efficient and helpful. Only one problem. We were there for two nights and had almost nowhere to store our clothes. Don't know what one will do if you go for a longer period. This is not a complaint, merely a suggestion to look at.
