Nice and clean hotel. Friendly staffs. Nice breakfast. Awesome view of the water town especially at night. Perfect spot for drone show. Highly recommended. Except need to climb up a flight of steps.

Perfect place to stay within the Gubei Water Town. The room was super cosy n quiet. Bed n pillows were very comfortable and toilet/bath was big and had all the amenities. Even body lotion was provided. Loved the extra touch of pyjamas and slippers provided. Green tea leaves and mini tea cups n n tea pot was also provided. As for the location, eventhough u will need to walk up about 100 steps to the hotel which is located on a hill adjacent to the pagado, it is definitely worth it when u see the view..especially at night when the lights light up at the town below and the backdrop of Simatai Great Wall. It is also very convenient to stay here as the free buggy provided by the watertown stops directly in front of the inn's entrance. Definitely one of the best places I have stayed for the price of the accommodation. Breakfast was vegetarian but tasty. You also get to have free hot spring experience at the bath house.

Excellent view from our room that allows us to see the entire Gubei town and the great wall. Rooms were big and clean. The breakfast was also very nice. Would definitely recommend to those who don't mind having to climb 100 steps to this temple hotel

Very nice to stay in Yuantong pagoda inn, very peaceful and beautiful View. from the room can see Simatai Great wall and Gubei town. Room was clean and comfortable. I really love this place. Staff are very nice and friendly.

Firstly, Gubei Watertown is a very well managed tourist destination and Yuantong Pagoda is one of the accomodation there. Our room is peaceful and quiet and the small challenge is to walk up 2 flights of stairs to reach accomodation. It is well worth it as this high vantage point offer a good view of the town below and the Simatai Great Wall behind. The breakfast is super healthy and the tea they offered is nice. The water is so clean you can consume it off the tap in the washroom Interesting feature at the Pagoda : Do note that there is a cavern beneath the Pagoda which house interesting statues

I traveled here with my best friend and I was surprised by how amazing the location was. It is inside the temple near the pagoda, the rooms are literally inside a temple, it is pretty cool. Big rooms, Very clean, nice light, very interesting breakfast. We loved our stay there, especially the view. The rooms are way better in real than in the photos. Best place to stay in Gubei!

A pretty interesting hotel set in a temple! Amenities were very new and the room was clean although a bit small. Breakfast was delicious!

The stay was offered at Junyue Inn instead because Yuantong Pagoda Inn is in the maintenance period. The Junyue Inn is located at the centre of the water town. The room is very spacious and there is a back yard overlooking the river. It has a comfortable bed and nice sofa seats for relaxation. The stay offers the free admission to the Onsen and it is really relax after a cold and tired walk.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pagoda. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We both have allergies and when the staff were unsure they asked a guest who spoke English to double check which we really appreciated. The food was delicious. The coupon for the hot springs was a great bonus too, we had a beautiful evening overlooking the Great Wall.

Excellent location, clean room and can drink water from water pipe

Room was clean and they provided shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste. They even had the option of ferrying your luggage to the service center. Breadfast can be better :) Wanted to try the vegetarian dinner but the restaurant closed early by 7.30pm.

Very exotic and interesting location in a temple under the main Yuantong pagoda. Very friendly and helpful staff. It helps a lot if you know Chinese and have WeChat tho. Room is super clean and mosquito-free. Bed is hard - the thick-blanket-on-wood type, which is typical for Chinese countryside. It's also quiet and at night the view from the pagoda terrace is amazing. Breakfast is traditionally Chinese and delicious (no milk or bread). An entire preset menu presented very quickly to you on a platter.
