I had wanted to stay here for a few years, and finally got the chance for New Years. It's a beautiful property but my review will be for the Destino Tower + food/transportation specifically. Check In: I checked in on January 2nd, after the first part of my stay at Pop Century. The check in was quick with staff walking around with tablets to assist. It's a little strange as you don't know where to form a line, and they also don't do the best at explaining room options to you, but it was a fairy quick process and we had our keys within 5-6 minutes. Room: We paid extra for the Destino Tower standard view and got exactly what we paid for, which was a parking lot view. The view wasn't magical, so in the future, I'd probably pay more for the water view, or do a preferred view of the other Coronado rooms, as Destino is also a further walk to some of the pools and food. The perk for the tower is having windows that face out, but if you're not enjoying the view, it's kind of a wash. Food: If you saw any footage from the NBA bubble, the food is bad enough here that players started their own coffee shops in their rooms for $20 a cup, and outside catering had to happen as they were getting bashed to high heaven. I knew it might not be good because of that, but holy moly, the food really is that bad. We were in line at the base of the Destino tower for coffee, but we watched a barista pour SIX SHOTS of espresso, before she started steaming the milk and then finishing the drinks. Some of those espresso shots were 5+ minutes expired before serving, which is wild, because you're paying premium prices. We ended up leaving the line after seeing their process and taking a bus to Disney Springs for better options. The restaurant on the water only had one vegetarian option which was a tofu poke bowl. It was quite plain and could use some edits, but staff was nice. Again, would do Disney Springs in the future. The other restaurants that we were excited for, they're closed certain days of the week, so keep that in mind and check their closure dates with your travel dates. The food here is probably the worst of any Disney moderate property but I hope that changes down the line. Pool: Pool is lovely with a great water slide. There's only one jacuzzi on the entire property, so it's large, but it's still not large enough for how many people are staying here and using it. We had a few days where after hours of being at the pool area, there wasn't a single option to go into the jacuzzi unless you were standing in the middle. Other moderates have multiple options, but that was surprising about this one. More guests here also plan for more 'pool days' than theme park days compared to other properties, so keep in mind this pool does get more crowded than elsewhere. Staff: Amazing. 10/10. Bartenders at the water restaurant were great, when there was a fight at the jacuzzi one day the staff were great, check in was nice - and even at times when it was an inconvenience,
