Lovely location on Lake Maggiore! Private beach with chairs, kayaks, etc
We got a room upgrade to be on the lake side! Breakfast was very nice and ambiance amazing from the garde.

This could be the best hotel in Baveno. The location is perfect and it has its own private beach BUT it is in desperate need of some tlc. It is not an hotel but a b&b! I understand that the owners do not want to change the history and character of the building, but it is distinctly shabby, the furniture in our room needed a good clean, definitely not shabby chic. It is a lovely building and could be a little gem on Lake Maggiore. But it has a neglected feel and is overpriced. Please be aware only two rooms, which are on the street side, have air conditioning. The garden is lovely but has a somewhat neglected feel too, broken sun loungers and cushions left out in the rain, and tables on the terrace overlooking the lake still set for lunch even though the restaurant is no longer open. The breakfast was meagre to say the least with very little fresh fruit, even in July! I have to say Paula, the manager was very helpful as was Monica who oversaw breakfast most mornings. If you are happy to just want a bed for the night and are happy with no air conditioning, using it as a base to explore the area then maybe you will see it in a different light. I imagine Covid has had a huge impact.

The hotel is beautifully situated directly on the lake and has its own closed car park. The house is already 90 years old and completely renovated. It is individually furnished with great attention to detail. You can feel the history of the house. The garden is spacious and extends to Lake Maggiore. You have the Borromean Islands in constant sight. You can walk to the pretty little town, which also has a pier. The hotel management is available with great helpfulness. We really enjoyed the holiday.

Charming hotel with a charming owner.
The hotel has many flaws: it doesn't have an elevator, it doesn't have air conditioning, it doesn't have a mini bar, the reception closes in the evening so you have to come back with the key.
On the other hand, you sleep in a hotel with the look of a late 19th century hotel (beola stairs, parquet everywhere, antique furniture, wooden doors) completely refurbished (including windows and bathrooms): all the charm of times when Stresa and Baveno were among the most chic places on the whole planet but (almost) all modern comforts.
And the rooms all have a view of the gulf of Stresa and the Borromean Islands which alone is worth the stay.
Private beach, beach towels in the room, good quality toiletries and sheets, good and plentiful breakfast in the garden overlooking the lake.
The hotel does not accept minors, but it is simply PERFECT for a romantic weekend.
The embarkations (scheduled and private) are a 10-minute walk away.
And as for the reception hours: having the opportunity to chat with Paola (ie the owner, for three generations) is worth the impossibility of ordering something at the bar in the evening.

Ormai sono anni che fine agosto trascorriamo con la famiglia diversi giorni in questo albergo. Paola è attenta e disponibile ad ogni esigenza personale e questo fa sentire davvero a casa. Albergo molto romantico, dotato di giardino, dove viene allestita la colazione e comodissima spiaggia privata, ristoranti e partenza battelli a pochi passi. Ideale per chi vuole fare una vacanza in totale relax!!!

Hôtel très bien situé dans Baveno, petite station sympathique et animée d'où partent des bateaux pour visiter les îles Borromées et villes aux alentours. Très bon accueil à l'hôtel auprès de Paola qui parle français et pourra vous fournir beaucoup d'informations. Le ménage des chambres est parfait et les petits déjeuners en terrasse extérieure face au lac sont un vrai plaisir. L'hôtel bénéficie d'une plage privée au pied du jardin, face aux îles, avec parasols et chaises longues à disposition.
