Myself and husband and 2 girls stayed here earlier in the month. We found this hotel ok. The drive up to the hotel wasn't an easy one as we had a hire car which made things more difficult. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping service was great. We found the hotel very expensive to stay at, the food was very expensive. On our last night my husband and I were having a drink in the bar when a gentleman, of sorts, was not pleased with the price of a drink, after having drunk it and decided to make a scene in the bar. He was shouting and using offensive language towards one of the young members of the serving staff, Mahlet, she delt with the situation very professionally until Emanuelle her senior saw what was happening and took the gentleman to oneside and delta with the situation out of the bar aera. We were very impressed by how nice and kind Mahlet was. Emanuelle and his twin brother made us feel very welcome.

I was here for a conference. There was excellent food and a great view. It is rather isolated. The room was too hot, as the A/C was turned off for the winter, and the only choice was to open the window, but that let in smoky air from the open air burning. The pillows were too soft. But there was a big TV with CNN, BBC, and many other English news channels. Having lunch on the deck was a pleasure.

This was our second visit to this incredible resort. The views are spectacular, the hotel, the grounds, pools and spa are beautiful. Our room had three balconies with unbelievable views. Most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. We enjoyed all our meals here because the food, drinks and service/staff are outstanding. We loved sitting by one of the big fireplaces having cocktails and appetizers while enjoying the views. It’s truly like being up in the most beautiful part of Tuscan heaven. We celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday and the staff/management created the most memorable day and evening for him. The spa and treatments were wonderful and totally relaxing. We will be back!

When I die, I want heaven to be like this. What a stunning hotel with a top notch staff and spectacular scenery! This was a girls’ trip, and we left late from Milan and arrived late. The roads to the hotel are winding - and we got lost. A call to the front desk set us straight. And then the front desk clerk met us in the courtyard with a luggage cart. We were so surprised and happy to see her. She quickly got us checked in, gave us some water and showed us to our rooms. It was like being welcomed home after a long trip. The rooms themselves were gorgeous. I saw a little wear and tear but nothing significant. And the views! Not just a balcony but a Juliet balcony as well. And a lovely soaking tub. The bed was so comfy. Breakfast was unreal with hot choices, cereal, fruit, and pastries. My only regret is we didn’t schedule time to just fully enjoy the hotel. I would come back here a million times. You’re just down the road from Lucca and a ways from Florence.

Perfecto! This is the place to stay If you want to get away from it all and be on the top of the world surrounded by luxury. This is a beautiful hotel that is superbly managed. The location is ideal for a fabulous vacation or for a company to hold a large conference. You definitely need a car to get to this hotel since it is in a gated area on a mountainside. We definitely enjoyed having the breakfast buffet (and cappuccino) each day to start our day right. You can have your meals inside in the dining room or outside overlooking the beautiful valley below. They have both an indoor pool and outdoor pool. They also have a great fitness center with plenty of equipment and free saunas. For an extra fee, you can sign up for a variety of massages, mud scrub, facial, and they are well worth it - highly recommended. We loved sitting by the real wood fireplace in the evening for a relaxing beverage and talking to other guests from around the world. All the staff are very well trained and super helpful. I especially liked that the vast majority of the staff spoke English so we never had any issues with a language barrier. Our room was perfect and the WIFI was super fast. We loved this hotel! Actually, we loved the little village of Barga too since it is so historic and we always felt very safe there even when out walking in the evening.

My friend and I recently visited this beautiful hotel, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. The location is remote, which is part of the charm. The views are stunning, and the pool, restaurant and spa were all top notch. The staff is what really make this hotel shine. Everyone at the front desk was kind, helpful and very knowledgeable; Maria, Corrado, Elisa, and Alice. The restaurant staff was equally impressive, starting with Mahlet (hostess), Angela and the twins, Lorenzo and Emanuele. Massimo, the older and very distinguished gentleman at the bar went the extra mile each time we stopped to see him; a true professional! Lastly, Guido the bellman was quick, efficient and very friendly. I have already sent several friends there, and I can’t wait to return!

I was concerned because the price was so reasonable. I was blown away. Very nice rooms, a killer view, and an outstanding (and reasonably priced) restaurant. I'd love to come back. Really an excellent property and a great value

My clients loved this hotel that I booked for them as part of their honeymoon to Italy! They even emailed to stay it was incredible when they were there. Rooms were perfect, Service was perfect, location was perfect!

Stayed for 1 night, and can honestly say if you are staying around the area, this is the place to be. Perfect Service, clean hotel, super polite staff, good breakfast, good lunch. Bar staff excellent. Zero negatives. Thank you to the hotel and staff. The staff also went above and beyond in pre booking taxis. 100/100
