PLEASE DON’T GET SCAMMED LIKE I DID!
This hotel is outrageously overpriced for what it offers. Yes, the location is excellent, right by Las Ramblas and Plaça Catalunya, but that’s literally it. Everything else was awful.
I paid €200/night for a ridiculously tiny double room with a shared bathroom. The building is run down, despite the staff’s efforts to keep it somewhat clean. The young staff is friendly but not very helpful, and communication is difficult as they barely speak English (mea culpa, I don't speak Spanish).
My room was furnished with the cheapest IKEA pieces imaginable. The mattress was horrendous, soft like quicksand and completely unsupportive. The only window faced directly into other rooms, so there is zero privacy, and they don’t even close properly, which feels super unsafe.
There is barely any sound isolation and I could hear everything. It was noisy all night with guests slamming doors, showering at 2 AM, the lift right next to my window going up and down at all times, or just people having late and loud conversations in the corridors. It was genuinely impossible to sleep. The shared bathroom smelled of mould, had a rusty lock, and was generally unpleasant. Honestly, I slept better on the plane.
I deeply regret staying there, it gave a bittersweet taste to my first travel to Barcelona which was otherwise really pleasant. I don’t want anyone else to waste their money and time there. Please, skip this place, it’s absolutely not worth it. You’re better off staying a bit farther from Las Ramblas and actually getting a decent night’s sleep.
No refunds are possible with them, city taxes are collected only in cash (this is dodgy in itself, but you'd also need to check that they charge you only once if you are by yourself in a double room because they tried to charge me the tax twice!). There barely any common area or support is available, for the rates they apply, it's obscene.
This place is a total scam. Run for the hills!
