Ant Hostel Barcelona

I was very disappointed… very run down hostel and lacking in any privacy… there are broken pocket doors… and very little privacy. I booked a 4 bed all female dorm and there was no ceiling and the bathroom door was broken… the cleaning staff … in this case a man swings the pocket door open at about 11 am.. you better have clothes on…, one of the staff members vapes at the front desk…. And doesn’t care at all about customer service. Guests are allowed to smoke on the balcony…. So be prepared to smell cigarette smoke… I have been coming to this city for 20 plus years.., this is by far the worst hostel…. Laundry is 10 euros… you are better off going to a laundry mat…

I would like to say the room is too small and the bedroom is a very close to another, same customer they have no respect during the night talking allowed , I feel like I slept in a garage. Thanks 😒

My stay was just okay. I wished the rooms were for 2. I didn’t have the luxury of moving around in my room. The bathroom arrangement is good but could be better with glass doors to prevent water into the rest of the bathroom.

FEMALE TRAVELERS!! This is such a good spot! Book it! I liked the experience and felt safe! Barcelona just around the corner!! Lovely stay, will repeat. The price vrs the stay is pretty cool, the helping staff the best I found on this trip to Barcelona.

Everything was fine, would recomend and would stay here again. Liked the privacy of the curtain. It is very noisy because a lot of people do not respect and care if it is late and you want to sleep.

I will preface this review by saying I’ve only stayed at one other hostel in my life in Venice and it was superb so I only have that to compare too but this was particularly average place the stay. The staff are friendly but the rooms are stuffy appears to be almost no ventilation I was sweaty and stuffy even not in summer. The bathroom was very mouldy and constantly wet. The pillows you may as well use your jumper. I didn’t stay the whole time but the friendly staff were full of smiles and the common area looked well equipped and comfortable.

Rude and fraudulent. We did not stay at the hotel as they changed our rooms to 2 separate rooms away from each other in mixed dormitories. They decided to take money out of account after we landed back home and refused to help us with the situation.

SCAM!! Booked for a private room with bathroom for me and my friend to stay in, we arrived at the hotel early at which point they took our passports and we paid for our stay and was told to return in a couple of hours. On returning they told us one 1 bed had been booked, after arguing with them, with proof of booking they tried to place both me and my friend in seperate mixed dormitories! I was lucky enough to have booked through ********** who I rang and they spoke with the hostel and managed to get us a refund and relocated us! The refund went into my account within a day or so (which is the ONLY good thing)! 4 weeks after our trip, the hostel fraudulently took money from my account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!!! Clearly they keep your details and use them without your consent! We have been in contact with the hostel since and they are saying they are in the right because we gave them our passports etc. Customer service is absolutely shocking! As soon as you raise a concern or complaint, they say they can't understand or speak English (although you can stand and have a full conversation with them while checking in and their English is perfectly fine) even had a translater at some points whilst trying to sort a refund etc. I would highly recommend AVOIDING this place and all contact with them!!!
