Harborside Hotel Marina and Spa

My wife and I slipped away for a two day weekend staycation after a brief 2 hour drive up the scenic Maine coast. We arrived in the afternoon in time to check into a spacious harbor view king and headed for Bar Island to take our Chocolate Lab for a walk and sweeping view of Frenchmen’s Bay. We walked into the lobby with a nice aroma from a burning Nest candle and luxuriously furnished sitting area. We had the pleasure of meeting Kali, their very energetic friendly GM, who recommended the Side Street Cafe where we had a delicious dinner in a casual atmosphere full of locals. Our pet friendly room was comfortable and very clean, allowing us to walk right outside. We were surprised walking toward Cottage Street, as we ran into the fun filled “bed race” hosted annually by the Chamber of Commerce. We had a popover and crepes at Stadium before heading for a walk with our dog Stella. At La Bella Vita on the second night we had a pizza and sat at the bar. The bartender was the best as was the food, and the place was packed with a wait. I would rate this and Kali a “Varsity” experience all the way, hey, hey hey!

Our family had a wonderful experience! We reserved a two bedroom for our family of six and it was so nice! 2 kings and a pull out sofa. 2 bathrooms including a huge tub! Wonderful Nest bath products. The beach was lots of fun for the kids, as was the heated pool and hot tub. Swimming under the stars on Bar Harbor was something I’ll never forget! We had a lovely dinner at the Italian restaurant off of the lobby, good service and good food. We had a Nespresso machine in our suite, which is something I always value in a hotel. The front desk was helpful and eager to serve, and when I had a housekeeping request they were very prompt. I hope we return again soon!

Beautiful setting. Beautiful lobby and entrance. The fireplace was a favorite spot after dinner each night. The room was very spacious and nice. Had a view of the water. Breakfast in hotel restaurant ach morning, very good. WE had a lovely stay. Our first visit to Maine.

Amazing place. Beautiful view. Quiet and clean. I would absolutely go back. Loved it! The staff was attentive and made our stay wonderful! The bed is very comfortable and the hotel is close to everything in town. The staff makes it simple by checking in to see if you need anything through texts.

This hotel was in a perfect location and the harbor view king room was wonderful. The lobby is very welcoming and the candle scent is the same as the Nest toiletries which was a nice touch. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Service was great and the pool and view over the harbor was breathtaking.

My husband and I came to stay on our honeymoon during our New England/ East Coast road trip. The hotel is beautiful. Staff is accommodating and helpful. The hotel is dog friendly which was wonderful as we brought our puppy with us. They even gave our puppy a doggy bag! The hotel was spotless & the house cleaning services were wonderful. We are planning to book this hotel again next year!

Originally was supposed to stay art the Holiday Inn Resort. They overbooked but provided us with harborside. What luck was that. All we had to do was walk out the front door and there we were right downtown BH. Beautiful facility all around. The lobby has a very nice fireplace to sit and relax.

We stayed here for an event and while the customer service was great - there was a general lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. For instance, the carpet was never vacuumed during our stay and a cap to a toiletries bottle from the previous guest's stuff was in the bathroom from the beginning of our stay and throughout the duration of our stay. At no time did housekeeping pick it up or dispose of it. I bought slippers as not only was the carpet not vacuumed and heavily stained but the bathroom floor was extremely filthy. Also, upon arrival the door to the outside wasn't locked and we were on a ground floor. These are all things where general care and attention would have gone a long way. Also, we ordered room service for breakfast the first night, but no replacement hang tag was provided the next day. Clearly, a lack of attention to detail again. Also, I expected that our room service would be delivered on actual dishes with flatware and glassware so nonetheless we were rather shocked when it came in take out containers. I was even more surprised at the general lack of maintenance with regard to the overall property considering that the property had recently undergone a "renovation". Overall, we weren't impressed and expected a better overall experience. With that said, the staff was very pleasant.

The hotel is beautiful, immaculate, and the staff is most friendly and competent. They have a text service that on 3 different occasions got me instant answers and corrective actions. This hotel has the best customer service I have ever experienced. The restaurant inside the hotel is also quite good. Breakfast/lunch gets a 5 of 5 and dinner gets a 4 of 5. The location is also ideal for getting around town. Parking is on-site, simple, and adjacent to the hotel. I will be back and recommend you give them a try.
