Stayed at ibis Bangkok Sathorn during my Bangkok trip. Overall, the hotel was within expectation for an ibis property. The room was simple, clean and functional. Location is decent with convenience stores and food options nearby, and pricing remains reasonable for Bangkok standards. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because of the many reviews praising the friendly and hospitable staff. Being from Singapore and visiting Bangkok a few times a year, I genuinely appreciate Thai hospitality because it is usually warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experience here turned out to be the opposite. The biggest disappointment was the front desk service during check-in. I was asked to pay a 500 baht deposit and asked whether I could place it on my credit card instead of cash. The front desk staff immediately told me that if I used my credit card, the refund would take one month after check-out. She then suggested I withdraw cash from the ATM machine beside the lobby instead. I found this unreasonable because overseas ATM withdrawals incur additional bank charges and unnecessary costs for travellers. In the end, I still used my credit card for the deposit. What frustrated me even more was that after processing the payment, the same staff then told me the refund would actually take about two weeks instead of the “one month” she initially claimed. That honestly made me feel misled. It genuinely felt like I was being discouraged from using my credit card for the deposit. I understand that 500 baht is not a huge amount of money. However, Thailand is still relatively cash reliant in many situations, so preserving cash liquidity during a trip is important. Creating unnecessary friction over such a small deposit amount feels rather meaningless and leaves a poor impression on guests. I hope the management can review this policy or at least improve how it is communicated. Unfortunately, the poor experience did not stop there. Further interactions with the front desk during the stay also felt cold and unwelcoming. Initially I thought the check-in incident was a one-off event, but after several interactions, it became clear this was more of an overall service issue. As an Accor member, this was particularly disappointing because I expected a certain service standard from the brand, especially in Bangkok where hospitality is usually one of the highlights. The hotel itself is acceptable for the price and category. But service, honesty and hospitality matter, and unfortunately that became the weakest part of this stay.

The front desk lady's English was excellent! The room wasn't huge, but it was incredibly clean. I was honestly shocked to see the cleaning staff kneeling barefoot on the floor to scrub the room – they were so dedicated and friendly. I felt completely at ease about the safety of my belongings. The gentleman managing luggage in the lobby was also very welcoming. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

My recent stay at the Ibis Bangkok Siam was generally average. Its biggest advantage is an excellent location, right next to the BTS National Stadium station. It’s within walking distance of MBK, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, and Siam Paragon, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and getting around. It’s perfect for travelers focused on city shopping. The room size wasn't particularly large, and the amenities were quite basic. Cleanliness was acceptable, but some facilities showed signs of wear, and the overall environment didn't offer many surprises. Check-in and check-out by the staff were efficient, and their attitude was polite, but the interactions felt a bit too formal, lacking a personal touch. Soundproofing was just average; I occasionally heard noise from the corridor, which slightly impacted the comfort of my stay. If you're planning a short trip and will be out exploring most of the day, this is still a good accommodation option. However, if you expect more comfortable rooms or comprehensive facilities, you might need to consider other hotels. Overall, its greatest strength is its convenient location; other aspects were standard. I'd give it three stars. ⭐⭐⭐

This hotel is located near Nana BTS station. It's about a 10-minute walk from Exit 2. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to and from Nana BTS station at designated times daily, which you can see in Picture 5. Also, a 1500 Thai Baht deposit is required upon check-in. I didn't see this mentioned in any of the previous reviews. Most of the front desk staff are great. However, when I arrived around 12 PM local time, a male staff member told me check-in wasn't until after 2 PM. Yet, when Indian guests came to check in, they were immediately assisted. I had to mention I wasn't feeling well to get an early check-in, which was a bit frustrating and could be improved. The environment is clean, and the room has decent space. The only downside is the lack of electrical outlets; I had to charge my devices using a data cable. There's also a safe and a mini-fridge. The nightlife in this area is very lively, so it's a good spot if you enjoy that.

My stay at this hotel was excellent in every respect. From the moment I checked in, the staff were friendly and professional, completing the check-in process quickly with a wonderful welcome. The room was very clean, spacious, and equipped with everything a guest might need. The bed was extremely comfortable, the air conditioning worked efficiently, and the soundproofing was good, ensuring a peaceful sleep. The bathroom was clean and contained all essential amenities, with clear attention to detail. The hotel's location is excellent, close to restaurants, markets, and attractions, which made getting around easy without needing much time. The facilities were of a high standard, including the pool and common areas, all of which were clean and well-organized. The internet was also fast and stable throughout my stay. The breakfast was varied and delicious, with options to suit different tastes, and items were replenished continuously. What impressed me most was the staff's attentiveness to guest comfort and their quick response to any request, always with a smile and respect. Overall, the value for money was excellent, and it was a comfortable experience that exceeded my expectations. I will definitely return to stay here again, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel that combines cleanliness, comfort, and high-quality service.
