This hostel is a joke. 1. During my booking, I've added a note of late night arrival due to flight time. 2. On the same day at 12.45pm I texted them to know the procedure to check in. They have requested my passport copy for check-in purposes. Sent them the copy, but no reply on the instructions for check-in. 3. Texted them at 8.40pm to check again, they requested to know which branch I am staying at. (I've provided my identification to them, they couldn't check in their system?). Replied them, but no further response from them. 4. Arrived at 12.00am in front of their hostel, texted them again but no reply. Rang the bell multiple times, another traveller came down to open the door to let me in. 5. Used Trip.com's internet call service to try to reach out to the hostel, no response. 6. 12.30am contacted Trip customer service to get help, as the room I booked has no key hanging in front of the door (got the info from another traveller they hang the room's key on the door itself for self check-in. I wouldn't want to just barge into the room, what if there is someone else occupying it? Considering all the things happened and they are so unorganised ). 7. 1.15am Trip told me that they have also tried to contact the hostel but have no response. 8. In the end, I slept on the common area sofa like a refugee. 9. 8.30am the hostel finally sent me the check-in procedure, which by the time I had left the premises already. I know it's a hostel (& cheap), but still, could you be just a little more organised? I've been to other hostels whose services are tip-top (some even better than a hotel). Applied for a refund, the hostel did not respond to my request.

The facilities are quite basic, and each room opens onto a hallway. However, they do offer complimentary coffee and black tea. It's self-check-in, and one night, a German guest arrived at midnight and asked me to help him contact the property owner. I didn't get to sleep until 1 AM because of it. He said he wasn't getting any replies to his messages. There's only one bathroom, and the water isn't very hot.

My flight was late and I arrived at the hotel at around 1 a.m. And the entrance door was closed so I called the hotel manager and he answered the phone but he didn’t listen to my situation and he hung up the phone. After that, I recalled him, but he didn’t answer the phone after that. In the end, I couldn't stay at this hotel.

Thank you the staff so much for picking me up when I was simply feeling down about "still" having to walk more than 20 kilometers in the pitch dark (No local buses then, unfortunately.) from Serasa Port. I had no local bills for taxis yet. It was what could I say... a thundering weather as well. After arriving in their car, they even offered me some drinks, oh my... for free. They went... I had such blessing beverages.

I booked this place because I had 12 hours of a transfer and wanted to have a shower before my next flight, also I needed to drop my luggage and have a nap for a few hours. The bathroom was terribly dirty, there were full of ants on the toilet seat so I even couldn’t use it at once, so needed to use toilet at the shopping mall nearby, it was much cleaner than the property. Luckily I have a priority pass so I could have a shower at the airport lounge so I could get on the plane with clean body but otherwise I needed to go to the office with dirtiness after the long flight. Also the owner told me that he had a car and he can drive to the airport for $10 that is as same as the Dart, so I asked him to do so at 10pm. He told me to leave the property much earlier than 10pm and there was a different driver outside. I was already suspected him as what the owner said was totally different. In the end, the driver asked me extra money in spite of he had already received the fee from the owner. Of course I refused it but he started to say things that didn’t make sense, that made me so annoyed. I highly recommend not to trust what they offer you and simply call a car via Dart app to avoid this annoying situation.

Good location, close to the bus station and boats. There's a mini kitchen and a small play area. Check-in is contactless. But you need internet access to write. A SIM card in Brunei isn't cheap, and many people come for a day or two and don't buy one. This is a problem. Moreover, the hostel manager strongly recommends not sharing passwords with new guests. (When checking in, I was told that I had to pay extra for a lower bed, which was determined by Agoda.) The only caveat is that I didn't book on Agoda, but on Trip.com. And I've never heard of an aggregator, not an accommodation provider, determining hostel accommodations.) There are notices about fines all over the hostel. Forgetting your sneakers, sleeping in the wrong bed, and checking in late. Some fines are 10 times the cost. (It's a bit uncomfortable; you subconsciously think about accidentally breaking the rules.) One toilet/shower is shared between all rooms, which isn't always convenient.

The room was clean and tidy, but it was a bit noisy at night, only quieting down around midnight. It's close to Brunei's main attractions, and there are many supermarkets and restaurants nearby, making it a good accommodation option.

Good location, in the city center, three minutes walk to Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, three minutes walk to Sultan Memorial Hall, two minutes walk to Water Village Pier, less than one minute walk to Brunei Royal Plaza, two minutes walk to the shopping center, there is a large supermarket in the basement of the shopping center, all kinds of goods are very complete. There are many restaurants in the shopping center, which is convenient for eating. I checked out of the original hotel before 12 noon because of the flight at 2 am the next day, and temporarily booked a small single room to rest and take a shower before going to the airport. The price is relatively cheap, the main disadvantage is that there is only one bathroom for all the rooms in the youth hostel, and the toilet and shower are all in it. If there are many guests, there will definitely be problems and it will take a long time to wait.
