It was amazed that i found such a wonderful hotel. Their rooms are so clean, breakfast so tasty, and comes with a pub downstairs in the hotel. most importantly, you can enjoy a fantastic tour of Hook Norton, Oxford. Across the road, you gonna see this ancient church with more than 100 year history. Then you go along the roads, beautiful England style houses are poped out of your eyes. you just feel that you gotta stay longer there for such beautiful views which happen only in movies before.

Bit of a pin in a map job to meet friends at a half way point. The welcome was superb and the food and service were wonderful. Would thoroughly recommend.

Best lodging in England, located in a delightful and picturesque area, very peaceful. Comfortable room, excellent shower, and impeccable service from all staff. I even forgot a necklace of mine and they are helping me to send it back to me. They are amazing, we will definitely come back! The pub is also a highlight, all dishes and drinks are divine, give them a try!

Fabulous “proper” pub, rooms only average for £89 pppnt What’s good ? It’s located in a beautiful rural village. Lovely warm efficient welcome from an admirable young lady on check in. The tastiest beer I’ve had for ages. Friendly locals in the bar. The snags? No cooked breakfast option. Small rooms (even by pub standards) The Continental has to be eaten on your bed 🤦‍♂️ since there is no space on the tiny desk to position the chair or access the work surface! (Room 4) Also, be aware you cannot lock the rooms from inside the room ! (See photo) . At 09:15 , while I was naked, the cleaner burst into my room without knocking! Quite impolite ! I would return, but only because of the tasty beer and friendly pub part !

Dreadful experience, got kicked out of pub within 5 minutes for complaining!!!! First impression - encountered a useless, grumpy teenage front of house barmaid that hadn't got a clue. Face like .... well I was rude, in a humorous manner that fell on deaf and obviously sensitive little ears, just made the poor girl cry!!! Went to apologise and got told to F off! Very aggressive owner/manager defending aforementioned incompetent front of house 12 year old. What a negative experience. This is the flagship pub for Hook Norton Brewery ... will let them know how their brand is being represented.

Honestly one of the pub hotels I’ve ever been in, and that is a lot. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it. Staff and locals friendly, food excellent. So many extras in your room, food and toiletries. Lovely village to spend time in, brewery visit worthwhile. Great attitude towards dogs btw xx

AVOID AVOID AVOID There today for Craft Fayre Popped in for lunch, to be met by the most miserable teenager barmaid (young chap firefighter was absolutely great!). Asked her if she was happy .... she reluctantly grunted yes, inbetween texting her boyfriend. Told her to tell her face she's happy. She eventually waddled over with the same grumpy look and poor attitude. I WAS sarcastically RUDE. sorry. The owner then flew over to our table in a rage like a demented Banshee!!! Insane and bang out of order. Needs more HRT. MORAL of the story .... if you are in hospitality with customer service, don't employ clueless grumpy 12 year olds.

With the TV series Four in a Bed, it makes you look at places in a different way. Take The Sun Inn, initial quotes were pleasant. Start looking around the room. Dust on curtain rails, unpainted bedroom door, paint on the floor in bathroom, spiders webs in the wonky lightshade, and a few hairs on mattress protector. Bed springs were noisy. To sleep, it was okay. The biggest issue was the complete lack of sockets in the room. Just one double where the kettle and dressing table was, and this was used by the TV and ariel booster box. To use kettle, you either had to use a socket by bed or unplug TV. Not great. Another major issue was the bathroom mirror, which was mounted very high, and my wife could barely see in it. Across the room, there were several holes in walls not filled and painted over. The room was described as overlooking garden, reality was you looked out onto the fire escape, with very little privacy. Other main issue was somewhere to eat. "Continental Breakfast" in the room, but only place to sit was on the bed. Bit of foresight, where the dressing table was would to have a small table and two chairs. All in all it was very average.
