A beautifully designed hotel in the highlands of Wanagiri, the weather is cool and temperate after the humidity of Ubud. If you want to get away from it all this is the place, very peaceful and idyllic setting with a heated open-air swimming pool overlooking the jungle, mountains, and the sea. There is a waterfall a few minutes walk away. The room and bed were huge, everything very clean and well-maintained. Excellent shower. Food in the restaurant was delicious, staff are very friendly and professional. However, to make the most of this location you need your own transport, which we didn't have, so we only stayed one night before moving to Bedugul.

Stay in this place no need for an AC. This place is cold by nature. The good thing about this place are: All rooms with flat TV, however with limited channels. Even some national channels are missing from the list. Hot water supply is enough for two person in bathing period, otherwise the third person need to wait for the heater to heat the water. Water pressure is also good. Breakfast has limited choice, however all of the choice available realy taste good. We rarely taste good food in this remote area. The bad things are: This place realy need for maintenance, peeling walls, half finish building, abandoned villa. In front of each villa is local villagers, some of them has business such as vegetables supplier, parking lot etc. So be ready to see locals around. Rooms cleaning need good Housekeeping practise. Floor mopping need hours to dry. They need to use better mop in this area due to cold weather and damp.

Good hotel. We went without any special expectations, since the place is not particularly touristy. But we were pleasantly surprised by the service at the hotel. The view from the balcony and especially from the roof where breakfast is held is breathtaking. Breakfast, by the way, is also very tasty! We will definitely come back if we go to Bedugul :)

This property was a little hard to find. You have to turn off the main road and then drive through narrow roads to reach it. But boy did we have a pleasant surprise when we reached the property. It has all the amenities a traveler wants and more. As we drove in there was a small area in front of the reception where we could park our car. It was dark and no one was at the reception. We rang a bell there and very soon a girl came. She helped us with our luggage and lead us to our rooms. The rooms were of good size. The bathroom was large by standards with shelves and hanging for clothes. The shower had hot water that flowed instantly. Everything else was good. There was even an electronic drying rack so we could wash our clothes knowing that the rack would dry them by the next day. The room was clean with tv that has Netflix, kettle, coffee and tea. Best of all the bed could be heated with a touch of a switch. We did not know the area was that cold and so didn't bring cold stuff. So we were thankful for the heated bed. Set by the lake as its name implies, it has a tranquil atmosphere, yet at the same time not too far from civilization. The restaurant serves good food. Not exceptional but good enough. Breakfast choice was Indonesian or full American. They even send us goreng pisang daily as snack. We saw the tented rooms, and even those looked good though we did not stay in them but they faced the lake which make them even more idyllic. There is also a gym and massage room. I paid IDR150000 for a massage and it was good. Problem was they had only one masseuse and we had to take turns. We all definitely enjoyed the stay.

Strategic place to stay with family. Hot water works normally unfortunately no kettle provided to make hot water if you want to drink. Because the temperature is very cold when you make hot drinks

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Bali

For luxury beachfront accommodation, consider the Legian Bali or the W Bali in Seminyak. In Ubud, the Hanging Gardens of Bali offers a unique luxury experience with its Instagram-famous infinity pool.

For budget travelers, the Puri Garden Hotel and Hostel in Ubud offers comfort and excellent service. The Dash Hotel Seminyak, with its eclectic and colorful design, is an Instagram-worthy stay.
