One of the most wonderful locations we have ever stayed! Overlooking Sidemen rice fields and Mount Agung, it was a sight to behold. The infinity pool was amazing too- clearly an Instagram hotspot as we witnessed a fair few photoshoots. The staff were all lovely too. It was my partners birthday and they helped me arrange a floating breakfast in the infinity pool as well as a gorgeous romantic dinner where they surrounded us in candles and flower petals! It was one of the most beautiful experiences and I’m so grateful to the 2 staff who made it happen. I did want to mention them but I’ve lost the bit of paper with their names on! Would definitely recommend this wonderful place to anyone.

Absolutely gorgeous place, perfect for recharging and trips to nearby places. The Batari villa was beautifully designed and spacious with breathtaking views of Sidemen rice terraces and surrounding hills. Whether it was raining or sunny, it was always cozy and comfortable. The pool was great for swimming and walking through the gardens and rice fields on the property was a bliss. Make sure you check out the restaurant which has a great selection and really good food and the traditional Balinese massage in the spa was one of the best ever.

Yes, it is indeed relatively mountainous and remote. So the advantage is that there are fewer tourists than in the seaside area. It is suitable for people who want to be quiet and close to nature for healing. Currently, there are very few Asian tourists and many Europeans. The room is very comfortable, but there are inevitably a lot of ants and insects when staying in a villa, which is normal. The catering, especially the breakfast, is not the usual format of a big hotel. It is an a la carte and exquisite form. The main front desk service can meet the needs even if they are needed. It exceeds expectations and is pleasant! When you walk out of the hotel, there are actually many cafes and restaurants outside that are very comfortable and offer massages, etc. . . . Summarize It is highly recommended for those who really want to rest! If you want to be crazy and lively, go to Kuta!

Wow wow wow! Amazing place Hubby and I we stayed here for 5 nights. What a delight. We had room 6 which was the smallest and furthest from the pool next to open rice paddies. We fell asleep every night to the sound of nature and had ducks waffling past every morning. The setting with a view of the ‘sleeping elephant’ mountain is divine. The room - newly constructed from old Javanese teak with lovely old features. Comfy bed, TV, fridge. Great brand new bathroom, new tiles and fittings, perfect shower brand new with instant hot water. Great AC. Spotlessly clean and no bugs at all on the room which is impressive in such a remote setting. There is also an on-site restuarant if you want to dine in. We would say you need a scooter to fully appreciate the surroundings, We hired a new N Max from the hotel with two helmets for 150,000IDR per day as we wanted a good powerful bike for the hills. Resort is away from Sidemen 10 mins by scooter road is good a little bumpy near resort but not an issue for us. We would definitely recommend this place if you don’t mind being a little out of town. The only small feedback is room 6 had no wardrobe or hanging space and no kettle but we got it for a great price so no complaints. Also refillable water would be good to save on plastic. A gorgeous gem highly recommend!!!

Stayed here for 2 nights and would recommend staying in Sidemen if you plan on visiting East Bali. We booked a whole villa and it was very spacious with a bed with mosquito net in the centre, plus a little outdoor area with sofa where you can lounge outside. The bathroom is huge with a separate shower, very long bathtub and 2 sinks. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We missed breakfast one day because we forgot the finishing time and also because there was a torrential downpour that stopped us from leaving our villa, but the staff were really accommodating about it and even brought us the breakfast to us. The breakfast here is delicious and they have western and Indonesian breakfast options with juices, veg, fruit and teas too. My only complaint is that the lighting in the villa was very dim so I struggled a little bit in the room at night. And the aircon was too close to our heads so we slept at the other end of the bed. However we loved our stay here and this was one of our favourite places we stayed in Bali.

Pro -Great view (Luxus Vila) -good beds -size room, lovely furnished. -very idyllic area -Klee but fine swimming pool Contra -Prices on food have increased significantly -You get too little breakfast to get tired. -we were promised to have a breakfast for the child at check-in. But next morning no food was provided for the child. We therefore decided not to extend our stay there. - no gojack or Grabcar could be booked, but you can book a local driver via the hotel (to a significantly higher price). - The stairs to the room were very slipped, you should be careful to lift the stairs.

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Bali

For luxury beachfront accommodation, consider the Legian Bali or the W Bali in Seminyak. In Ubud, the Hanging Gardens of Bali offers a unique luxury experience with its Instagram-famous infinity pool.

For budget travelers, the Puri Garden Hotel and Hostel in Ubud offers comfort and excellent service. The Dash Hotel Seminyak, with its eclectic and colorful design, is an Instagram-worthy stay.
