This is the only hotel I will stay if I come back to Kuta again. Each person has their own experience, personally, I like quiet, chill, private, and locally traditional style so I can be more immersed in the local culture. Poppies Hotel provides such entertainment and friendly services. The room, the decoration, the little garden for each cottage, and the well-designed space and the beautiful pool!! I mean, I didn’t go outside for anything, simply just staying in the hotel for whole day until my surfing class in the late afternoon. Also, I used the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner…haha, I mean just trustworthy with fresh, clean and delicious food. The staff there almost worked for 20+ years so they were like families to those who often come to Bali and stay at Poppies. The driver who provided pickup and drop off to the airport services Mag (hopefully I was right) worked there for 20 years and still loves his job! Before I left for the airport, I went to the pool and lied down for the last 30 minutes, even being a bit emotional for it was so PEACEFUL!! I love Poppies Hotel!!!

The hotel's location is incredibly hard to find, and you can't even drive a car directly to it. The overall style is very garden-like, and the lighting in the rooms is quite dim – I guess that's the intended aesthetic. The decor is local, which we found a bit unsettling. The toilet is actually outside the room, separated by a door, so we didn't dare go out at night. Plus, there were strange noises coming from the ceiling at night. Transportation is really inconvenient; you can't get a taxi right to the entrance. If you're coming back at night, you have to walk through a small alley, which was quite scary.

Poppies is a lovely bungalow complex just perfect for couples. It wouldn’t suit families as the pool is quite small, and the room has just one queen bed. Gardens are lovely and well kept, and being right on Poppies Lane 1, has many small generic and speciality shops within an easy walk, right in the lane. Guests should be aware though that opposite the entrance are a group of menacing dogs, which came out to us and were a real risk. The staff were very understanding of this, though probably can’t control the open gate which was where they had escaped. As there is a high risk of rabies in Bali, guests should be aware that this could pose a problem. The breakfasts were probably the best and most varied we had on our recent trip, and Poppies Restarurant nearby is a lovely setting to enjoy those. A small and very beautiful quiet hideaway amongst the mayhem. The staff are wonderful friendly and accommodating. The room we stayed in was spacious clean and the bathroom is the best! The only negative is the restaurant food was overpriced and a bit underwhelming.

The rooms are individual Balinese-style bungalows, offering great privacy. You can pre-order breakfast and have it delivered to your room's balcony, which is a lovely experience. Airport pick-up service is available. The hotel offers excellent value for money. The only thing to be aware of is that the road leading to Kuta Beach is narrow and has a lot of motorbikes, so you need to be very careful when walking. The hotel's own restaurant also serves very good food.

Ideal for a little rest where you can live in a tiny cottage with cool air-conditioned rooms and a large sofa to lounge on. The bathroom is special with an outside feeling and perfect layout. This is my lovely hotel in Kuta. But during my third staying in the hotel the floor was dirty.

The hotel is in a Balinese style, surrounded by meticulously maintained greenery. Each room is a standalone villa with tables and chairs outside the door. Breakfast can be delivered, and it closes at 12:00 PM, which is a huge plus for someone like me who doesn't wake up early. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool, not very large, but sufficient given there are only about a dozen villas. The restaurant has a particularly nice ambiance; it would be a social media sensation in China. The staff greeted me warmly. In my opinion, the hotel deserves 4.5 stars. I stayed for three nights, and everything I needed was in good condition; I didn't encounter anything bad, which was a pleasant surprise and shows the hotel takes great care in its maintenance. However, the rooms looked a bit old, which is a common issue with wooden rooms. Those who mind this should be cautious. Regarding other aspects, the location is very close to Kuta Beach and Baechwalk, but you need to walk through a narrow alley in front of the hotel. This alley is difficult to navigate, requiring you to navigate between pedestrians, motorbikes, and even cars, making continuous walking impossible. You constantly need to dodge vehicles, which slows down the actual walking time.

I liked the garden where the hotel is located. The bungalows are interesting, preserving the atmosphere and original details. It's beautiful. The bedding and amenities are clean, though not new. Be aware that a garden like this can be infested with insects and small animals, and caterpillars can crawl into the shower. The staff puts mosquito repellents in the rooms every day, but there's a distinct odor that woke me up several times; by the second day, I was used to it. There's also a distinct damp smell, a noticeable humidity in the room. The air conditioning helps. The location is good, close to the beach, airport, and shopping center, but the streets are very narrow. It's difficult to get there by car; even the taxi driver got confused. Walking is uncomfortable due to the lack of sidewalks and heavy motorbike traffic. Airport shuttles are available, which is generally necessary given the location; taxis may not make it. Breakfast is quite simple; you can choose a combination of eggs, toast, and fruit. So, I didn't want to try anything in the restaurant; I had a feeling the dinner would be the same. On the plus side, you can have breakfast until 12:00 in the restaurant, and you can also order for your terrace. The service is good; all the staff wear national-style uniforms and are friendly. It's fine for a few days, but I wouldn't stay long. I chose the hotel based on reviews, and I'm surprised it has such high ratings. It's a decent hotel, nothing more.

The room was fully equipped, clean, and tidy, with warmth and comfort in every detail. 🌿 The tranquil and beautiful setting, surrounded by lush greenery, gave it a truly resort-like feel. 🍽️ The breakfast was also incredibly rich and delicious, with both local and Western options, making waking up every morning a delight! ❤️ My wife and I loved it here; it was a truly relaxing and romantic experience.
