PROS
- Top top top service! Personalised from the hotel entry gates where your arrival gets notified to the welcoming staff at reception so that everyone addresses you by name, down to specialised staff who take you to your room, one who mixes your welcoming (non-alcoholic) drink in your rooms after you’ve received welcoming jamu drink and nutrition ball.
- Hotel room has so many amenities incl cocktail bar, freshly replenished local healthy snacks.
- The hotel grounds is large enough to suit any type, from all sun lounge beds, breezy covered outdoors, cool indoors Dome book cafe to sunset rooftop garden. The place is buzzing all round. Lovely lit infinity pool. Quality food. Lots of hotel activities.
- All round environmentally conscious: bamboo or wooden furniture, recycled plastic bins, coasters etc. Breakfast is à la carte to avoid food waste. Upon arrival guests receive a recycled plastic shoulder bag and water bottle
CONS
- Whilst the room was spacious and interesting by design, the fact that everything was bamboo, including the bath and sink, compromises its durability and cleanliness. The all bamboo shower and toilet walls, once closed felt like being inside an outdoor cabin huts and quite claustrophobic too
- Security is one thing but the hotel upholds a policy of no outside taxis allowed into the front lobby unless it’s an official BlueBird. This should be okay, but the BlueBirds are not on standby, their own vehicles are but these will be a minimum 200k. So I had to hop on a buggy who’d take me to the front main street where the taxi would be waiting for me.
