The Radiant Hotel & Spa

Kuta Bali|0.22km from Bali Fast Track
We stayed at The Radiant Hotel and Spa for one night after reaching Bali close to midnight. An average hotel, nothing to shout about. Here is why: Good: 1. Check-in and check-out were fast as no deposit was required. Special thanks to the check-in staff for making our night a little less stressful (see point 1 below). 2. Buffet breakfast spread was okay, but overall it was good. There were local food, bread and pastries, fruits and drinks. 3. Bed was okay, firm enough for a good rest. Bad: 1. Upon clearing customs and immigration at the airport, we proceeded to the arrival area to look for our driver, as per our arrangement with the hotel. After searching up and down for almost 30 minutes, he was no where to be found so we went up to the information counter and paged for him. No one came after 15 minutes, so we thought of booking a GoCar to bring us to our hotel. However, the officer at the information counter told us that GoCar was banned and we had to walk out of the airport area to the main street to catch our ride. To reduce our hassle, believe it or not, he ”offered” to fetch us for a fee of 5 USD! I declined his ”offer” and went to purchase a local SIM card to contact our driver. To our surprise, our driver then miraculously appear in front of the information counter! 2. We had two bath towels but one was dirty and with a hole on it. Since it was already close to 3am and we had to wake up early in the morning for our tour, we did not bother to request a new one. 3. Shower screen door let out a loud squeek every time it was opened and closed and looked like it was going to be detached any time soon. 4. Bedsheet had stains on it, but since it was only for a few hours' sleep, again we did not bother raising it with customer service. Yea, so that's about it. Overall, our experience with the hotel was not the best but not very good either. Fit for a night, we would say. Fortunately, the breakfast was not too bad.

For what you pay for it’s pretty good. I was greeted warmly by a man who was quick and efficient with check in. Our room was clean including bed, sheets, pillows and towels. Obviously it’s a little bit of a dated room but if you need a stopover just to relax or wait for a flight etc then I think it’s perfectly fine. Don’t expect five stars but if I needed to stay for one night again I would. Also I’m not sure how people were able to walk here from the airport? It’s through a lot of highways and roads with no footpath. We opted for a metered taxi just outside the airport. We paid 125,000. But after discovering Grab it’s even cheaper for the rest of your journey.

Very nice hotel and very convenient for those early morning flights as its about 5mins from the international departures terminal. The swimming pool area is great to sit round and have a nice bit of lunch and dinner. Great menu alot of selection. The food was exceptional. I only issue with it really, the WiFi didn't really work very well in my room, which wasn't to much of a problem but a little annoying when I was trying to check in to my flight. It worked perfectly fine in the Lobby and pool area. It's also not to convenient for going out to eat as there really isn't much else around the area without getting a cab further into the main part of Dempsar. Still a very nice hotel though.

Didn’t have a chance to really checkin due to an unexpected accident happened to our friend with whom we traveled together. But the location seems like the best if you need to catch up an early flight. I was told by a local restaurant manager that Kuta has a little bit higher crime rate than in areas such as Ubud and Sanur. And better not to go out alone and watch out you bag and belongings in Kuta area.

You get what you pay for, value for money. Cold water shower but it's hot anyway. The room was clean and tidy. 5min walk from airport Once you leave airport walk out front and to your left you will see toll booths. You will need to walk out of airport entrance and then around to tolls. Cross over at tolls (busy road but doable) chillin homestay is located on otherwise of brick wall, under the billboards. You will see a small entrance way to allow you to get over the otherside of wall.

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.
