Teatro Boutique Hotel

Nothing looks so good on the photo, the room decoration style feels the same as the small hotel in the county. It was clean, but the surrounding feeling was rather deserted, and there was no popularity. The road in front of the hotel was still being repaired. Not taking the subway, they are all taking taxis. When you check in, your passport will be at the front desk and check out will be given.
Dreamland Golf Hotel Baku

Perfect place if you are looking for a peaceful stay far from Baku city. This place is around 30 mins from Baku City Center and 10 mins from the Airport. We had arranged transportation in Baku, so commute to and from the hotel was not a problem. The hotel does arrange taxi for you if you request, but its recommended to use Bolt app to get around Baku by taxi. At the time of check in, the hotel reception asked us for our vaccination certificates, which was the only place that asked to see our vaccination status during our entire trip to Azerbaijan. Rooms are spacious and had a balcony. The rooms facing to the back of the hotel have amazing views of the golf course. Each room is allocated for 2 guests, so additional guest have to pay 10 manat per night and another 10 manat for an additional bed. The room has an expandable sofa, which can also double as a bed for the extra guest. We found the room AC, WiFi and shower facilities to be good. The rooms had no mini bar, but there is a common mini bar in the lobby next to the reception. The hotel seemed lavish in providing sanitary kits. It was also interesting that each room had a Lavazza coffee machine, but only 2 capsules were complementary. Dreamland Hotel did not have a swimming pool which was disappointing for the kids. Hotel guests can enjoy 1 hour free golf session at the Golf Academy located behind the hotel. We were a bunch of amateurs, but we still had fun taking turns swinging and missing, ball after ball. The hotel is located inside Baku Golf City, which is a massive area with golf greens, water bodies, lot of villas and apartment complexes. The hotel is around 1 km from the Dreamland Golf City main gate and once inside you could easily get lost. It would have been really nice if the hotel provided guests with free / rented bikes to get around the golf city. The golf city seemed to be well maintained and has good recreational facilities which included bike tracks, kids play area and fountains. There is also a Bazarstore mini supermarket (Open from 9am to 8:30pm) and ATM in front of the hotel. Breakfast is from 8am to 12 noon at the panorama restaurant on the ground floor. The free breakfast included with the room was a standard breakfast (no buffet) which includes an egg of your choice, bread basket and a plate with few veggies, fruits and some condiments. Our kids did not like the breakfast, so we had to order pancakes which costed around 7 ₼/plate. The breakfast selection was disappointing and that's where I drop a star for Dreamland Golf Hotel, it was so uninspiring that for the remaining days of our stay here, we had to search for alternative breakfast options. They could definitely improve their breakfast, because the same restaurant did serve some amazing food when we went there for dinner.

In general, everything is good: a normal breakfast (yes, there is not enough variety if you stay for a long time, but I didn’t have time to experience it in a week), adequate room, wi-fi, excellent staff and price. The room was a little tired (a couple of stains on the carpet, a scratched cabinet), but everything in the bathroom was new + consumables were regularly updated and the main furniture was in excellent condition. The main disadvantage is the location: the bus stops that go from/to the center are close and run frequently, but to get to the stops you have to make your way through parked cars at services, car dealers and tire shops. As a result, I left for OT in the morning and returned by taxi.

This hotel is such a gem. It’s cosy, comfortable, and SUCH vibe. Here are some of the things I loved: Room: My room was perfectly sized — not super large but ample space for my luggage to be opened and spread out, and for my things. The beds were comfy, and there were two comforters since it was the winter. There was a mini fridge, a kettle, a TV, teacups and tea sachets, water bottles, towels, and basic toiletries. The bathroom had heated floors, a hot rack, a bidet, and a Muslim shower/hygiene faucet. Hot water 24.7 with great shower pressure for washing up. The room also had its own thermostat to adjust heating/AC. The view overlooks a park and a government building but it wasn’t too chaotic. The usual urbane sounds of traffic, people laughing and going about their day (but not noisy at night). The room also had a little balcony which was very cute. Staff: The staff were SO kind. Helped me with anything I needed, and provided airport transfer at a reasonable rate. They were also very kind when it came to my requests, questions, or just a polite smile and laugh at the end of a long day. Food: There is a restaurant and bar on the top floor which has very cosy interiors, a piano, a lounge with large cushy chairs, and tons of photos and books. The exposed brick decor and the view of the city gives the feeling of a classy pub. The food itself is delicious and there is a diverse menu. It’s also very affordable for room service. Location: The hotel is located splendidly — 8-10 mins leisurely paced walk to Sahil metro station and the boulevard, and 2 mins from bus stations. There are grocery stores, restaurants, banks, and other facilities in walking distance (in the same block). A Bolt cab ride to Old Town is 0.8 AZN — or a 12-15 min walk. Safety: It’s a very safe city and the hotel is also safely located. It’s just off the main road and there are always people around so it doesn’t get spooky. The Azerbaijan Justice Academy is also across the street which is a boosted safety reassurance. The rooms itself have secure doors and windows, and key cards for entry. There’s also a locker in the room for valuables. Facilities: There is an elevator in the hotel, and WiFi. Room service is also available.

Not quite what most people would recognise as 5* but an experience all the same. To easy your experience you could consider packing: Ear plugs- not only to reduce the volume of neighbours' shared orgasmic escasty, parties and high spirits in the accommodation area. They're also recommended in the resturant- not only when guests like to engage in passionate domestic discussions across the length of the dining room but the staff regularly like a good debate in the middle of breakfast. Drain cleaner- of the rooms sampled, 75% the ensuite bathrooms offered exotic essence of sweaty boot filled with sump oil sitting on a radiator. Mystic meg- when you check out the bill may appear to be un-connected to your booking terms. A hi-viz jacket. Crossing the road out front in rush hour is akin to zebras crossing the Limpopo - one error and you'll not get a second chance. No need to pack: a smile- most of the customer facing staff are a delight and will always do their best to politely say the right thing- they're a credit to Azerbaijan. The jury is out on a final grading. Would I return? Mmm...
