We stayed here after reading the reviews and thought it would be great but It was just ok. Our room for the two nights we stayed in was absolutely freezing, we tried putting the temperature up but it just would not warm up. Our room was actually lovely, really spacious with a huge comfy bed. The views though were of the back door of the co op with all the rubbish! The parking opposite was ok, quiet for February. I’d assume spring and summer you would find it harder to park. I think the hotel charge an awful lot for somewhere that don’t have parking. There is no one on reception in the morning, for the hikers that like to get up super early for breakfast and get out, good luck because breakfast don’t start till 8am! The breakfast was just ok, quiet in the bar area and they seemed to struggle with just a few people waiting so dread to think what it would be like in the summer. I asked for tea one morning and 3 times it had to be changed as it kept curdling, the waiter however was extremely apologetic and very polite. The toast they butter themselves which I’ve not come across in a hotel, found that odd. The whole hotel is clean, just a weird vibe to it.

Leanne is quite frankly amazing. She is a credit to your establishment. Always helpful. Always smiling. Wonderful lady. All your staff were fabulous and friendly. The room was very comfortable and the pillows and quilts were great. The facilities in the room were welcome. It was a lovely and quiet room. The bar and restaurant were good too!! The hotel location was ideal in the heart of Bakewell. It had a wonderful atmosphere in the hotel, with everyone welcoming and kind. The room was nice and clean as was the rest of the hotel. We would come again! Already dreaming of our next break away with you 💕

Super hotel in great location. The room had comfy beds and nice linen and towels. Good tea and coffee making facilities and friendly staff. Parking was a little bit of a faff as the Monday market was on but the hotel reception team recommended where to park and we moved the car 80m from the front door for overnight parking.

Great location, room was very large. Bed was the best so far that we have slept on. Coffee machine in room , dressing gowns with slippers. Only downside was the bathroom , even though it has new design the shower in the bath is a negative as the bath was high and if someone had bad hips/knees would find it very hard to get in an out of with nothing to hang on too. Also, the vanity has no bench space for makeup bag etc. But these are just minor issues, the room was lovely and would definitely come back here. Unable to upload photos of room

Lovely small hotel, spacious room with super comfy bed and soft bed linen, fab aircon and large bathroom. Bar, wine bar and cheese emporium, very friendly snd helpful staff, and a car park over the road. Would definitely stay again next time on Bakewell.

Stayed for 1 night, what an absolute wonderfully hotel. Room was amazing, air con was a must due to the heatwave. Room very well decorated and styled and the bathroom is amazing. Great for the price. Location is prime to Bakewell.

The location is amazing. Extremely convenient. Public parking near to the hotel was a little confusing. Shona checked us in. I told her that we needed a quiet room as we are light sleepers. She assigned us the Hadfield room and I asked her again if it was a quiet room. She said “YES”, and if we have any issues we could change the room. At 3:30 am, the CO OP threw a bunch of broken bottles in the dumpster, and the delivery trucks kept on rolling with their metal carts. Non stop rolling doors from the lorries. Right along the window are refuse bins and delivery entrance. We spoke with the morning receptionist. She said that Shona should have assigned us with a different room on that day and was too lazy. She refused to change our room and excused that they were fully booked even though someone had just checked out right in front of us. We stayed in H Hotel for 2 nights with glass clashing, carts rattling and truck doors slamming with minimal hotel amenities and service. The only friendly persons were Rupert and the day housekeeper. The receptionists and Eva (on duty Jul 10 after 2 pm) never acknowledged or had any eye contact with anyone. She was not hospitable nor welcoming. What a terrible representation of the H Boutique Hotel brand. Never accept any rooms along the CoOp side no matter. Just say ‘NO”!!

How important is great customer service when things go wrong? For us, it made all the difference. Despite the polished image the hotel portrays, our experience fell well short of our expectations. It wasn’t the issue itself that defined our stay, but how it was handled. I booked a jacuzzi room as a surprise for my husbands birthday. On arrival we noticed the toilet seat was badly fitted and moved when used - we reported to reception they apologised and said someone would fix it . We had booked the room to use the jacuzzi - with the uncertainty of when a maintenance engineer would arrive we didn’t feel comfortable using it - so much for the relaxing break we expected in a luxury room ! 3 hours later the issue still wasn’t fixed . We went to the bar for a drink ( we have receipts for) while the maintenance person fixed the problem - that’s when things got even worse. A member of staff was very rude to my husband ( she later apologised blaming stress) The following morning we checked out- we asked to speak to manager and were told no one was on site as it was Sunday but would be at the hotel in an hour. We duly waited only to be told sorry she’s not coming We asked for a call to discuss payment - no call came just a debit of £230 to my credit card ! I emailed the manager only to receive an email from the director stating the issue we reported was cosmetic ( seems odd then it required a visit from maintenance to repair) he also stated we were given a free drink - we have receipts for the one drink we purchased. To add insult to injury I noticed the email I received had in fact been sent to the manager and I had been copied in! We were already feeling our experience didn’t matter to the hotel , our concerns were minimised to the point they were virtually ignored and communication was abysmal. It’s a shame because this could have been resolved with better communication, empathy and accountability. Instead, what should have been a relaxing luxury break became memorable for all the wrong reasons
