Een Italiaans restaurant in Duitsland vinden in Duitsland is geen sinecure. In Bad Nauheim hebben we er eentje gevonden. Taverna is een nieuw restaurant, zo vertelde ons de zeer vriendelijke zoon des huizes, dat ook een nieuw concept aanbiedt: Italiaanse gerechten aan een redelijke prijs zonder al te veel toegevingen aan de niet-Italiaanse smaken. Geen met roomsaus overgoten pasta bijvoorbeeld. De relatief kleine spijskaart biedt meer dan genoeg aan er zoals wij twee keer op een en hetzelfde weekend te gaan eten. Een echte aanrader en een omweggetje zeker waard, zeker voor wie met hongerige kinderen onderweg is. Want je eet er zoals je dat buiten de toeristische trekpleisters in Italië verwacht: gewoon lekker, zonder toeters en bellen.
