MO2 Westown Hotel Bacolod - Downtown

Bacolod|0.48km from Pope John Paul II Tower
I stay in hotels 200+ nights a year, both for work as a healthcare professional traveling around the U.S. and for leisure in Asia, where I live. In recent memory this is the ABSOLUTE WORST hotel that I have stayed in. Saying it is HORRIBLE is not an apt description. Think worse, MUCH WORSE. Staff were rude, insolent, indifferent and were the least representative of ”hospitality” that you could imagine. My wife and I were traveling separately because I was flying back home from the U.S. and she was coming from up island. We normally stay in a much better hotel each time I get back from an overseas contract, but our usual hotel was booked out. The hotel looked ”okay” on the website. Not in real life. Despite numerous emails and texts, one that very morning, about my wife arriving ahead of me and occupying the room the front desk staff made her sit in the lobby for 2+ hours because the room was ”Not ready”. The only thing that would have made this room ready was a wrecking ball. This hotel has set a new sub-standard of excellence. If you lowered the bar any further a snake couldn't slither under it. Grime, filth, rust, the bathroom vent fan hanging out of the ceiling, the room ”safe”, a shoebox sized box, didn't work, but no worries, it had been ripped from the wall previously, so you could just carry it with you under one arm. Just getting into the room was an adventure as the entry tile was buckled so that you couldn't open the entry door completely. You couldn't open the adjacent closet door either, but that really didn't matter since this hotel does not provide hangers. Really. No hangers. The pool, viewed from our room, might have been inviting to cool off, if it hadn't been for the lovely ”Frog Pond Green” hue of the water. We asked for extra towels and an extra pillow. Those come at a cost. The next day housekeeping took the clean (extra) towels out of the room, but left the dirty ones on the floor. Then the front desk called and said that we needed to pay the ”daily rental” for the extra pillow. Otherwise they would be sending someone up to collect it. After the 2nd night we'd had enough. Really, we would have shifted sooner but I was jet lagged from 30 hours of transit from the U.S. back home and, really, could it get any worse? Well, yes. Day 2 I awoke to find a construction worker on the access balcony outside our room's window. At 0605 hours. Peering in. Silly me. We were on the 4th floor, why did I need to worry about drawing the drapes. He smiled and waved. This would be a great place to stash your hated mother-in-law, worst enemy or evil boss. The staff seem to be taking their hospitality cues from binge-watching the PURGE movie series. The ONLY redeeming factor is the SM Mall located about 0.3 km away. So, you can always look forward to shopping. Like I said, the WORST hotel experience in memory. We fled. There are a few decent hotels in Bacolod. This is NOT one of them. Stay clear and far awa

OYO 561 Abn Hostel

We came the other day at OYO ABN hostel with excitement knowing that we can have a comfortable stay/rest from our 2 night tiring trip in Cadiz City, and to our surprise... 😊 Our excitement was turned into disappointment! Because: 1. The floor was dirty and it somehow had random footprints?? It's not even fully furnished, no tiles at all from down to upstairs. 2. We were hardly able to lock the doors and windows due to rust. 3. TV (which facing the wall when we came in the room 😆)/AC/HEATER in the toilet were not working properly and seemed like props for display. 😁😁😁 4. Linens/beddings/towels smells very unpleasant and felt itchy. 5. Tap on the sink were broken. 6. Water from tap smells like rust. 7. Cockroaches under the bed (maybe because of the carton they put under the bed. 8. Double deck were cut in half to make it single bed, 🤣 ladder was just placed under the bed. 9. The electricity got cut off in the middle of the night and was hot due to the AC not working. *We actually booked 2 rooms but we're able to use 4 (and supposedly for 5 days but we stayed only for 8hrs) amaaaazziingggg!!!! Isn't it? 😊 its all because of the above complains hehehehe😊😊😊 Anyweiz, thank you for the 2 pcs of rejoice shampoo and 2 small size of safeguard body soap.... At least, really kept us safe from germs 😜

I decided to try this hotel again because the location was close to the port. While I found it better than my last visit it was still not on par with the best hotels in Bacolod. The good: - The hotel is clean - being attached to the SM Mall with lots of choices for food and shopping was great - Sleep quality was acceptable - water pressure in the shower was great The bad - breakfast was especially bad. No bacon, no egg station, the only juice was calamari’s- how do you provide a breakfast buffet in a tropical country with no mango or pineapple juice??? The coffee and tea is serve yourself. This simply does not compare to the breakfast buffets at the better hotels in Bacolod . The no longer provide individually bottled water in the room. Instead it’s a large bottle that at least in my room was not marked as filtered, so I went out and bought water. - overall the feel is as though they are trying to get by on the cheap. The low quality desk chair, lack of individuality bottled water, poor quality towels, etc. all lead to this feel It’s not bad, just not worth the price. There are much better options in Bacolod for less money
GT Hotel Bacolod

Being located at the heart of City of Smiles is one of its advantage; where church, malls, and other attractions are just steps away it's really undeniable that GT Hotel is one of the best value hotels in the metro. I can say that foods are great, desserts are highly commendable and have reasonable prices. They also have function rooms and very accommodating sales and marketing, food & beverage, housekeeping, and front office staff. On top of that, this hotel has a spacious parking lot where you can really say that they value their guests' security and safety because they have guards on duty and the area is covered with cctv cameras. Furthermore, hotel room rates truly prove its value. Rooms are clean and well maintained and room attendants are all nice and friendly. Checking in on time has never been an issue because front office staff secures room availability upon guests' arrival and if not available, they make offer that the guest/s can leave their things at the concierge and will be immediately informed if room is already available. May GT Hotel Bacolod continues to deliver good customer service and be more driven to excel in hotel and hospitality industry. This hotel is always ”a home, away from home”. :)

This hotel is not 4 star hotel at all! I dont know what kind of criteria they are looking but this is not a 4 star hotel. The worst stay ever I had in the Philippines. The hotel itself does not have an exhaust! When it is very hot outside, they turned on the air con full blast! in the ground floor and then in the room, other than that it would feel like a sauna. So we stayed here & booked for 4 days, the second night I wanted a refund because the room was firstly cold when the aircon is turned on when its hot it feels like you're in the sauna. This is where I even got more sicker, as I could not sleep due to the loud sound of the airconditioned! It was very unpleasant! We've moved rooms 3 times in this few days when we stayed. The first room was horrible; it was on the 4th floor! It was depressing! The bathroom was not cleaned at all! It was like one of the rooms that were not used for the last 3 years, the shower head was full of rust even the bidet! I would not even try to use it to clean my bum! It was even dirtier than my bum! Disgusting! So I complained about this & they told us to move to another room which was more renovated on the 3rd floor! This time it was ok! So we said we stay here but then all the shower head was also not nice & they had to change it! At night when using the shower, it started to flood, so I had to call the reception & at midnight the technician had to fix it! The restaurant had gone downhill as well. There are many waiters and waitresses just standing there and sometimes they dont have a clue! The food was OK. But I questioned the cleanliness of it! There was once at the restaurant during breakfast when the other table was finished and the customers left, the waitress just took all the plates and glasses and also the paper placemat & replace it with a new one without even cleaning the table! Disgusting! I called the attention of them & told them that they need to clean it as there was still some dirty stuff from the other customers. So they were quick splashed it water and wipe it with cloth. We also went for lunch once and the food served was cold, we complained but they said it was made new & I asked the waiter who served it to try because it was cold, so they had to give a new set of fries! Afterwards we dont eat here anymore as I felt that the food being served or made is not fresh! At one point i felt very sick as i could not sleep very well due to the loudness of the aircon & requested for a refund, they moved us to a matrimonial bed! At first we can try but then the last few days I really became very ill! Anyhow, we spoke to the General Manager and he even apologised and also gave him some suggestions! But he told me that they are still recovering from the pandemic! I also want to add that the business room is nothing like a business room it was like a storage room for luggage and cables were everywhere with 1 computer inside & charging you ridiculous peso for printing or scanning; the

We were staying in this hotel for like 3 days last month. I thought they were just like the other hotels we have stayed at, where the employees and staff are doing well, polite, respectful to their clients, etc., but I guess I was a bit wrong. Moreover, it was my first experience from this hotel that every day we have to jump in or transfer to another room for so many reasons, and to be honest, we were integrally aggravated because we had to fix and gather our stuff again before transferring. That idea from them was too awful. Additionally, the first room that we were in was spacious, and we had our own cabinet, but when we were transferred to our rooms on the second and third days, I really didn’t like it because the room was too small; it didn’t have any cabinets or hangers to hang our clothes. We were paying the right amount of money per day, although it is very expensive and the hotel had no elevators, yet I don't know if they were providing or giving us small yet uncomfortable rooms considering that I availed of the room just like the first day that we were put into. Hence, the second and last rooms on our second and third days are really not reasonable.

We recently stayed 2 nights at the O Hotel in Bacolod. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the breakfast was great and the service was top notch!!! The hotel was under going renovation but it didn’t bother us at all. If the staff had not informed us, we wouldn’t have known it. We will absolutely stay here the next time we’re in Bacolod.
