The Gould Hotel

Love the hotel and staff as always! It may be time for a mattress upgrade as the bed was not very comfortable and seemed to sink in the middle.

Was a good stay. The evening staff told us there was breakfast in the morning, we went down for it to be told that they DonMt do breakfast when the hotel is quiet.

Always an enjoyable stay at the Gould. I stay here when seeing shows at Del Lago, as it is more affordable and has several family owned restaurants in the neighborhood. There is a nice walking trail down the road, a canal and rich history to explore.

We came from Virginia for our daughter to tour and stay over night at Wells College . The Gould was easy to book , check in was smooth and very informative. The room was everything we expected and for a historical building very modern and nicely decorated. The rooms and hotel in itself was very clean thank you housekeeping!!!! The food and service and the dining room was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing! Everyone was very kind, welcoming and had great hospitality. If our child chooses Wells we are sure to return!!! We highly recommend for a weekend getaway in a small beautiful town!

I reserved my room through the app on my way to the area. when I arrived It was after midnight. The woman at the front desk advised me that unless they had set up the check in befor she had gotten there, She would be unable to check me in or get me a key. Because she had no access to the computer system, She was just there to clean. My Only available options were to sleep in my car on below freezing weather or drive another hour to another hotel. ******* offered to put me up in another hotel but the options they gave me were horrible drug infested hotels. ******* then offered for me to get a hotel of my choice and they would pay for it. This of course did nothing for me Since my company pays for the hotels and they are not the ones being inconvenienced. In fact, if I didn't have a charge on my company card I would be forced to pay for my Meals and travel cost. soin the end, their Screw up would cost me more money while giving benefits to my employer. I ended up driving an hour away and checking in in another hotel at 2 AM. So that I can get a few hours sleep before my seven a m appointment. I will never, ever stay at this hotel again. And I will never use ******* again completely incompetent.

This building is a very old building that looks to be very well maintained. There is a bit of light traffic noise at night, but this is not a complaint at all. I would stay here again without thinking twice!!!

Needs better room cleaning. Old water bottle on floor by nightstand, bathroom tile and glass for shower needs to be scrubbed clean. Slight mold in those areas. I like a cold room to sleep, a/c wouldn’t get room any cooler than 73*. Front desk on day shift was like talking to a cardboard man….no personality or energy or anything! The 2 evening workers were friendly and inviting. Give credit to the young lady at the bar/dinning area, bartender called out sick and they were going to just close for the evening….she stepped up and not only did her job waiting tables, but also tending the bar!

The room and service was wonderful. My only complaint is that the 2 complimentary bottles of water had been opened and were too full, which means someone used them previously and refilled them instead of throwing them away. I did not drink them and I dumped the water out just to be safe. Other than that, everything was great and I will stay there again.

Only things that were not thrilling was The door wouldn’t latch properly. Really needed to make sure it connected (even when you think it did it didn’t) so double check. Waking up at 5am for the garbage truck outside the window taking the dumpsters from the hotel into truck as well. So Friday mornings in the back of hotel be forsworn for an early morning.
