Athens Tower

I booked an Acropolis View (Junior Suite) room, but during my stay, I actually found bed bugs in the room. The hotel explained to me that this was common in Europe and that they had treated the room three days prior and that it was clean. Initially, they only offered to change the bedsheets, and I was then instructed to continue using the room. No explanation was given about professional extermination or safety checks. However, I later learned that the room was unavailable until an extermination company had dealt with the issue. The alternative room I was shown was not the Acropolis View room I had reserved, but one with a clearly different view. Despite this, I received no adequate explanation or apology, and I was treated as if I had "changed rooms of my own volition." This left me deeply suspicious. There was also a bar on the upper floors of the hotel, and the noise continued every night, even after midnight. During my stay, I witnessed other guests requesting a room change due to the noise. Furthermore, when a problem arose again during my stay, there was no one available to deal with it on the spot, and I was told that it would be dealt with the next day, which made it difficult to communicate quickly. Furthermore, during my stay, I noticed that it seemed relatively easy for outsiders to access the guest room floors, which made me concerned about security. I think those who prioritize safety should be careful. While the location itself is fine, I felt that improvements were needed in terms of how to respond to hygiene problems, noise, and security.

The location is in the downtown area, and it is convenient to take the subway, but it is also the first evil of the hotel's poor rating - the noise is serious On the last night, there was a party in a nearby bar, and the music was so loud that I wanted to call the police. Fortunately, I called the front desk, and the front desk helped me move to a relatively quiet room downstairs, and I spent a peaceful night before takeoff. Except for this point, the other points are still worthy of praise The elevator has a small capacity and you have to queue, but when I don’t have luggage, I like to climb stairs, and there are not many floors The hotel’s breakfast is very rich, and the service is also very warm and thoughtful. They will ask if you are dissatisfied with the food. The environment of the restaurant is also good, and you can see the Acropolis on the mountain from the window. The room is very large and spacious, and a large bottle of bottled water is refilled every day. Driving in Greece is quite challenging. The roads between blocks are relatively narrow. It is not recommended for novices to rent a car.

I don’t know what got me into booking this hotel for 6 nights! The area where the hotel is located is one of the most chaotic areas in Athens. The environment is too noisy. The square downstairs of the hotel is noisy from morning to night, making it impossible to rest. The hotel facilities are very old. The elevator can only accommodate four people. There are so many people getting on and off that you often have to wait for several times before you can get on. In addition, the hotel does not even have a decent lobby and is not formal at all. The hotel service is not good. The bath towels and face towels are not fully provided every day. When there are problems, the phone calls are always unavailable. Only the breakfast is OK. I couldn't stand staying two nights after booking for six nights. I left in tears as I couldn't get a refund for the unaccommodated room. It was like an escape. Fortunately, I booked an alternative hotel, the Astor Hotel, which was not far away and closer to Constitution Square. The situation improved greatly. Thanks to the Astor Hotel, my trip to Athens was saved.
