Atascadero

Atascadero|2.98km from downtown
Nice modern newer hotel in Atascadero, convenient for visiting Paso Robles, Morro Bay, SLO and Avila Beach (as long as you have a car). Minutes from the 101. PROS: Plenty of free parking, well lit. Modern, clean, newer hotel with up-to-date decor. Friendly front-desk person. Pool, gym, business center and breakfast included. Nice spacious breakfast area. Wall Street Journal available in lobby. Quiet stay until our last night when we had to call the front desk twice when a rabble of people were being very loud on our floor after 'Quiet Hours'. Vending machines and small shop with essentials available downstairs. CONS: I was not impressed that they don't offer housekeeping/a room refresh unless you're staying more than 5 days, although there was the option to ask for new towels at the front desk. When you're paying around the $200/night mark, you expect to come back at the end of a busy day to have at least your bed made and the room refreshed. I was told that 'People like the fact nobody enters the room while they're gone'. While this is one advantage, this is basically post-Covid corporate greed speak for 'It's a good excuse to not spend money and hire people to clean and make back some money we lost'. If I don't get my room cleaned, I might as well rent a room in someone's house through an on-line app. Breakfast food was your typical hotel chain buffet with sugary yogurts, cheap breads/bagels, rubbery eggs, brown spotted bananas, etc. When are hotels going to start offering more quality food? At least it's something to put in your belly before you go out for the day and you don't have to traipse the streets looking for breakfast. All-day coffee and tea in the lobby would be a nice touch like some other chains offer. I found the bathroom dimly lit, despite a light around the mirror. The light in the room was more natural for applying make-up. If you found this review useful, please click the thank button.

Very rude front desk man. As a girl, I would not have stayed at the hotel if I did not have someone else staying there with me. He aggresively tapped at the glass when talking to me. He gave me a lot of attitude and was very rude to me every time I spoke to him, even though I continued to be very cordial. At check out, I brought back the room key and he gave me attitude about where the paper/slip was that the room key was in. Not only was I shocked about how mad he was at me, but I was also shocked that they were keeping the key slips with everything going on with COVID. When he asked where the slip was I said ”I think it is in the room.” and he said ”you THINK?” and then shooed me away. There was a cricket in our room and a few small bugs in the sink, although that was the least of my concerns. When I did a general Expedia review after being asked to share about my stay, I got a very snitty message back. They said they ”upgraded my room” to a 2 queen bed instead of a king but they one, never told me about an ”upgrade” and two, it was not an upgrade since I was staying with my boyfriend and we never used to other bed. I knew I wasn't paying for a 5 star hotel when I booked this place, but I would at least expect a welcoming or at least nice-ish staff. The staff at the San Luis Inn and Suites in SLO has always been kind to me and I will go there next time even if the price is a little more because of the staff here.

The location is good, the bathroom has a jacuzzi, the room is quite big but the decoration is general, the Christmas holiday restaurant is closed, the surrounding is the same, relatively speaking, the price is low, family travel is not recommended.

On the first night, Highway 1 lived in the town of Carmel, and the second night was chosen here. It is 40+ minutes drive from San Simeon. The hotel is located at US101. Compared with the hotel on Highway 1, it is very cost-effective and the quality of Marriott's hotels is guaranteed. From here to the Danish town about 1 hour drive. The overall feeling is very convenient. Breakfast is quite rich in the United States. Free parking. The room is large and the bed is large.

Stayed here for several days while visiting a sick family member and ultimately planed the funeral. With everything going on the staff really welcomed us and made us feel as taken care of as possible . Shane the front desk clerk really went above and beyond for us. Made sure we had plenty of clean towels .He had even suggested that we we enjoy the pool to help with some of the stress. Great staff will be back for sure.
