Ecoresort Hotel Zefyros

We stayed for one week in Zefyros hotel. It's not in the city but it is right in the centre of the island, so it serves as a perfect base for daily excursions in the mainland and the wonderful beaches of the northwest. Nice, cosy, clean hotel with very nice breakfast and friendly staff that will help you with your trips. Definately will stay again, thank you Zefyros!

The hotel is on the top of the mountain, more than 700 meters away from the sea in a straight line. The seaside in the other direction is a town, two kilometers away. You have to take a taxi to Zakynthos Town, fifteen euros a time. In short, you have to take a taxi everywhere. This is something we didn't expect beforehand. The hotel did not hand it over to the chain management team. There was only one person at the front desk. He watched a half-old Italian man running around. Later, I saw him grinding coffee and preparing drinks. Later, he came to the restaurant to order dishes, and then he came to order and help you. Pull luggage to the room. . . Others are lazy, do whatever they call it, and don't take the initiative. It feels like a family business. The lobby is quite large, empty scattered with tables, chairs, and sofas. There are not many rooms and not of scale. It is estimated that this is the main reason why the professional management team does not come to operate. There are several rooms on the 0th floor with private swimming pools. We live upstairs. The balcony is very clear to watch people swimming and sunbathing, and there is no privacy. Upstairs overlooking the woods and the sea, the view is nice. The room is huge. . . It's not that big. The facilities in the room are not in good condition, and the boxed paper and kettle are only given to us when we go to the front desk. Not worthy of a five-star title. Unprepared to travel with the local group, everyone went to swim in the water. We stayed on the boat stupidly, and cancelled the trip to the Blue Hole altogether the next day. I went to the beach to swim by myself. This hotel is not good value for money! ! ! It is better to choose Zakynthos to live in. The desserts in this hotel are very good and the breakfast is very good.

Firstly, do not listen to the bad reviews! The staff here are gorgeous! So friendly and happy. The hotel is clean. The pool areas are cleaned once or twice a day. The public areas are spotless. As are the rooms. Yes, the room was smaller than we thought. But so what. It has everything you need and you only sleep, relax in there. The bathroom's do need a little updating. They appear just a little 'tired' for a 4 *. Initially, our air conditioning wasn't working. However, this was eventually sorted after around 5 days. The manager kindly upgraded us to MFC. Which was lovely. However, in all honesty, I do not agree with the 'two tear' system. But this said, we had the most fantastic holiday! We also took the ferry over to a very unspoilt, Kefalonia, which is very well worth visiting. I think it is a must if you can hire a car. We travelled all around the island of Zakynthos. We also hired a private speedboat with some friends we had met and visited the blue caves and the shipwreck cruise, too. Thank you to everyone at the 'Aluasoul'. You are a tremendous, lovely team of people. Please see my pictures below.

A lovely little hotel set back amongst olive trees, up a steady climb on the road followed by a short, sharp hill to the hotel itself. The hotel has a nice decor to it, the swimming pool is a good size and generally has enough sunbeds to go around. The rooms are spacious, kept clean and tidy every day, and the views from the balcony with sea views are a treat that never gets boring. The staff are all friendly, accommodating, and always there if you need anything. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options, whether you prefer cereal or toast, with eggs sausages, cake etc. The only fruit on offer seemed to be peaches so no other choice in that regard. The lunch and dinner options are also good, plenty to choose from the menu and were nicely made and well priced. The walk down to the local tavernas, bars and beach is about 10-15 mins away, depending on how fast you walk, it might take a bit longer if you decide to go to the far end of the resort. There are taxis available for those who do not want to walk back, they cost anywhere from 7-10 euros and can either be hailed down on the road (if your lucky), going to a taxi rank or asking a restaurant to book one for you. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Tsilivi, it is located in a quiet spot in the Planos end of the resort, situated away from the hustle and bustle of the main *****, but close enough to get to without too much effort. Special mention to Dimitris for helping to decorate the room for a family member on their birthday, it was well received so thank you for this.
