Casa Andina Select Arequipa Plaza

I spent a 3-day weekend here, the place is very nice, the service is exceptional, everyone is kind, polite, and eager to help and make you feel welcome. I want to mention Vanessa, Angel and Roberto for their awesome service and welcoming attitudes. I would also like to recognize the restaurant staff, unfortunately I don’t have their names but everyone there was very helpful and polite. The location couldn’t get any better, anything you may need as well as many touristic places are close by and at a walking distance. Last, but certainly not least, the view of the plaza and the Cathedral from the restaurant is incredible morning, noon and night. Highly recommended!!!

Had the opportunity to stay here while on a tour of Peru, and we enjoyed the brief time. The rooms are compact, however clean, comfortable, and with nice amenities. The breakfast buffet was average, nothing extraordinary, however fit the need. Wotjin walking distance of some enjoyable restaurants and felt safe walking around as a couple and individually. As with many hotels in Peru 🇵🇪, speaking Spanish is a plus. However, your smartphone translator comes in handy.

The best hotel in Arequipa, no doubt!!!! I thank you for all the attention provided by the manager and all his staff at Casa Andina Select, I really had a great stay there!!!. Thanks Melchor Delgado for being a great person and an excellent professional tour guide, I learnt a lot in a short time!!! Thanks AREQUIPA. I'll be back!

Family of four (50, 49, 16 and 14 YO) stayed 12/29/23 - 1/4/24 The location is perfect! Directly on Plaza de Armas, adjacent to the cathedral, the hotel has a view of the plaza from the fifth-floor balcony and the second-floor restaurant. We had one room on the fifth floor and one on the third. The rooms were nice, comfortable, and very clean. We looked at the Casa Andina Premium - the building certainly looked nicer but the location is not nearly as good. The location was too good to pass up. Food at the hotel's restaurant (LaPlaza) was great. Excellent breakfast which was included with the stay, and we ate dinner there twice. So nice eating outside on the patio with a view of the Plaza. I would have given it five stars except for two negative experiences: One - we arranged a shuttle from the airport with the hotel (Ashley Guzman contact), in advance that never showed up. I confirmed with the hotel the day before our travel. It turned out to be relatively easy to order an Uber while at the airport, but by that time we had already waited 45min. When traveling on family trips to new cities I like to order a shuttle ahead of time. I don't feel like waiting and/or negotiating with taxi services with a big family after a long flight, and Uber tends to be spotty in smaller foreign cities. I tried calling and emailing the hotel while waiting for the ride but couldn't get through and they didn't respond to emails. For some reason Uber drivers in Arequipa cancel trips often, i had three cancel at the airport before one finally accepted. Two - I made dinner reservations through the hotel at Alma (Casa Andina Premium restaurant) for New Years Eve two weeks in advance. I confirmed multiple times (Paolo Rodriguez contact), including the day we checked in, 12/29, as I was concerned about not having reservations for New Year's eve. When the time came we got dressed up, walked over to Casa Andina Premium and of course, they had no record of our reservation and couldn't accommodate us. It was quite frustrating since it was New Year's and we had no backup plan. However, putting the experiences into the context of our broader experience in Arequipa it is not surprising. Arequipa is not as tourist-friendly as Lima, which is what attracted us to it in the first place, and reservations just don't seem to be common in the city.

They make you feel at home. No question goes unanswered. Staff really goes the extra mile to serve and help you. Heartfelt THANKS to Angel, Rafael, Roberto, Italo, Yaneira, Vanessa, Andrea, and so many other names we can't remember.

Great location. Staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed our stay and would return if we are ever in the area again.

I had a great 3 night stay at Casa Andina Select. I chose this hotel for its location, and am glad I did! After an entire day of traveling, it was very nice to go straight to the hotel's restaurant and eat/relax in view of Arequipa's town square. The hotel's view cannot be beat. The rooms are designed well, and shower are hot/amazing. When I arrived I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to a room with a view, which was worth it (for me). In the lobby there are snacks/drinks for purchase, computer stations, and a small book share (take a book/leave a book). But what must be noted is the hotel's exceptional service. Every person I encountered was beyond helpful! And Michele at the front desk made me feel very safe/secure in particular, at 345am no less (I was leaving for a private tour with very early pick-up). Without going into detail, Michele quickly and swiftly responded to my concerns and in a very clever way. I felt secure that my hotel was aware of my whereabouts, even though this is not a hotel's responsibility. As a solo female traveler, these acts make a difference. The man square in Arequipa is the best Plaza de Armas in Peru and this hotel has the best location right there at the main square. Casa Andina are an amazing hotel chain in Peru, stayed at there hotels in Lima and Cusco also. Great service, clean rooms and good breakfasts.
