The stars of the hotel - Madhuri and Titus - were extremely friendly, loveable and courteous. You guys did a splendid job in making our stay in Goa worthwhile. Talking about the hotel - yeah good stuff! The cleaning the look and feel and the ambience were amazing. The café/restaurant the hotel had was average. Would never recommend you to book the hotel with breakfast. Not worthwhile. Overall an appending experience. Thank you!

This is our second visit to this place. Its a decent stay with a sea view from deck and restaurants area and partial sea view from the rooms. Rooms are clean, neat and quite good in space. Beach is a bit crowded though if you are like us who like south goa style calm beaches. But good to have a walk, bath and hang out in the shacks n cafes.

I booked a pool view room and they gave us a cheap room on the first night. When enquired at the reception, they responded very rudely and then finally accepted they made a mistake. To co****sate they said they’ll give me the actual room that I booked but gave it to someone else and then again transferred us to another wrong room. To the guy with black face at the reception, “you’ll never be more than a failed receptionist”

The location of the property is "awesome". The rooms are clean but they were better maintained in 2021 when I visited first time, than what I saw in February 2024. It could be better. However, the lodging experience is okay. Now the questions is why it received a 1-star - I would have given it a ZERO star if there was an option because this property claims to be a "Resort" and not a "Lodge". A minimal requirement for any establishment to call it a decent "Hotel" (we will come to "Resort" later) is to have a in-house, hotel ***aged, "Restaurant". Lotus Sutra Resort does NOT have its own !. There is a scam of a restaurant that exists a separate building (it should be called a dilapidated shanty) that is not under Lotus Sutra Resort's ***agement. Their Menu card and pricing is like a 4-star hotel where 2 boiled eggs cost 120/- plus "Room service charge" if you order it to your room - yes you heard it right...there is an additional room service charge. They also de***d you to pay immediately as it is not under Lotus Sutra's ***agement so it cannot be payed in full while checking out. If they miss out charging you then they would wake you up from sleep in the middle of the night (at 11:30PM IST) and ask you to pay 132/- for a rice pudding that you had earlier in the day and would not go until you pay them while half asleep. I was booked for one more night and it was not my last night in the property. Hospitality score should be in negative. On sharing this review in writing to the front desk at Lotus Sutra while checking out, I soon got a call from the dilapidated-shanty-restaurant-that-charges-extra-for-room-service's ***ager saying that "if you felt prices are high you should not have ordered". This was the business response from a ***ager of a so called restaurant in a resort ! - Definition of hospitality. Overall, this was my second trip to Lotus Sutra in Arambol and the Restaurant is the reason I will never again go to this property or recommend it to anyone. To the Lotus Sutra ***agement - If you cannot have your own restaurant, with inclusive room service, decent quality of food, hassle free payment experience then sorry to point out you are far from being a relaxing holiday destination !

Initially the cottage room was bad for three nights but then they changed my room for the next half of the trip to a good room which was truly worthy of the cost spent. I paid extra 10k for the next two days of stay. Property is extremely well located on the beach with plush rooms and a sweet little pool. Right in the market so no need of hiring a scooter for knick knacks. Lot of restaurants around especially beach shacks. A good stay. Thank you Arambol!

Woefully small restaurant perched atop a makeshift rickety ladder ( with nails protruding through the bamboos on either side, which you hold while climbing up) Such a small capacity that hardly 1/4th of the resort guests would fit at a time. Very bad food ( though quite expensive) except the buffet breakfast which was a 6/10. No beach towels are provided. We had booked 6 partial beach-facing cottages - all are quite dark, some had broken approach steps, some had tiles coming off the bathroom floor, 111 was right next to the kitchen & dining above & we were disturbed late into the night by the loud staff chatter & kitchen noises. No security from the beach approach & a bunch of hooligans entered one night & there was shouting, loud singing & vomiting right next to the kitchen. Housekeeping was prompt & efficient , but no small napkins or spoons were provided. Israel the ***ager & Madhuri the receptionist were always smiling & helpful. Loud music is played every evening from 7-10 in the garden seating, but they refused to lower the volume inspite of our repeated requests - we were sitting right there & playing board games. Restaurant staff Ashish & Phillip were quite helpful

I really wanted to like this place, especially since our guide book (Lonely Planet) recommended it. The service was poor from the beginning. At reception it took much longer than needed to check in as the staff kept fielding questions from other guests. When I asked for the invoice, they said they would provide it, then didn't. I had to tell them our room number three times in a single conversation and finally got the invoice. They made us pay everything up front and an argument between staff members ensued when the one offered us a cheaper room (it was clear the other wanted to sell us a more expensive one). We felt exploited, as if we were just dollar signs and not guests in their beautiful location. The cleaning service showed up at 4:30 in the afternoon. When I asked them to return in an hour when we would be gone, they said yes. Then they didn't show up. The towels were ratty. And while the bed and room are very comfortable (great shower), the overall experience was very disappointing. Too expensive for what you get. We moved to a much more affordable place in the same area with hosts who cared. This place proves you don't always get what you pay for.

I stayed at Lotus Sutra in January 2022 and 2024. In comparison this time experienced a bit of decline in response. Linen was shabby on day one and the following day it was better but on day four inspite of request no cleaning was done and the tea/coffee/milk were not refilled. Washroom is not pleasant. In the name of toiletries a small piece of soap was supplied ***** with two bottles (ready to fall at anytime out of a wall hanging). It has average quality of body lotion and shampoo. Towels need to be cleaner and bleached to attain confidence to use. Still the proximity to beach and market , nice ambiance and music, statues of Buddha and pleasing garden encourages one to stay here.
