The hotel facility is relatively good. However, the booking system is a problem!
At Richmond Hotel Akita Ekimae, when we checked in at 7pm, the receptionist said our booking was for 23:30~05:00 check-in time. Check-in other than this period will require a surcharge of Yen $2000. How would anyone expect on a regular booking that the check-in time would be in the midnight?! Ok, since we "overlook", we paid.
However, 2 days later when we checked in the same brand name hotel at Aomori (Richmond Hotel Aomori), the receptionist asked us if we need a smoking or non-smoking room.
I told them I booked for non-smoking room. They said their system didn't show that, and they didn't have a non-smoking room now; if we need that, an additional charge of Yen $2000 is required. What?!!!!!
1) If you don't have a non-smoking room, why ask if we need one when we check-in?
2) Isn't a non-smoking room should be at a non-smoking floor? If you have one, we should be given one when we asked for it.
If you don't have one, how would you make one when we pay the extra charge?

This is the 2nd time I stay at Richmond at Aomori and 3rd time I stay in a Richmond hotel in as many trips to Japan. Although they do not have the best locations, as in within 5 mins walk from train station, they make up with their very good spread of breakfast. This is something I look forward to every time I stay at Richmond.

This is one of my favorite hotels i. Aomori prefecture. Staff is great. People are friendly. Location is perfect and indoor parking is the “ heat”!

The hotel is located about a 15-minute walk from Aomori Station. There is a supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient. The rooms are clean and tidy. Room supplies can be picked up in the hotel lobby. Soup agents are provided that can be used in the bathroom. The view outside the room window is wide and refreshing. .

The hotel is clean and tidy and highly recommended.
Diagonally across the intersection from the hotel is the Airport Express.
There are a lot of hundreds of rice restaurants nearby, where you can eat wagyu barbecue to your heart's content, and the prices are very cheap.
For Chinese skiers, the shuttle bus from Yamato Hotel to Hakkoda is slightly farther away.

The accommodation is very good. The room is large and has a shower set to choose from. The bathtub is very good. There is parking in the hotel. But there is a parking fee of 900 yen per night. Breakfast is good, but very irritated that the apple yogurt is gone and there is no refill even though there is still 45 minutes left until breakfast time ends. This is not okay. But the bed is very comfortable.

It takes about 20 minutes to walk on the snow with my suitcase from JR Aomori Station to the hotel. The front desk staff are friendly and courteous. The hotel is new and clean.
