We stayed at this amazing hotel for our honeymoon. We knew it would be fantastic from the photos but the photos didn’t quite do it justice, the resort is beautiful and the staff and service are out of this world. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay special, nothing was ever too much. They even organised a surprise meal to celebrate our honeymoon. We enjoyed a spectacular meal at the Kamata restaurant in the middle of the paddy fields. The chefs Diluka and Manal’s food was absolutely amazing and made us fall in love with Sri Lankan cuisine which we had not tried until our stay here. They were very welcoming, along with Ravi and Vehan who served us for the evening. Ravi especially made us feel so special throughout our stay as well as Sidath who also looked after us at dinner. The other waiters were also exceptional but unfortunately we cannot remember everyone’s name. We took a trip to Sigiriya Rock for sunrise with one of the hotels rangers who we cannot remember the name but he was so kind! It is definitely worth going to see. The housekeeping staff were brilliant, turning down our room every day and again whilst we were at dinner. We could really tell their attention to detail, we were very impressed. The service to take us to and from the hotel by Kusal and other members of the buggy team were very attentive. Ruwan and Manujaya who worked on front of house were fantastic, nothing was too much for them. We would like to thank all the staff at the hotel, we are sorry we can’t remember everyone’s names, we wish we could to thank you all individually, but you were all truly amazing and made it an amazing experience. It was the best hotel we have ever stayed in, you really made us feel very special!

As soon as you arrive at this hotel, it warms your heart and you feel like you're at home for a few days. It is not only the warm welcome ceremony and the tradition of ‘ringing bells’ for arrivals, but also the tastefully furnished and equipped bungalows, the entire complex and all the wildlife that call this place home. Be sure to take a cooking class with Chef Nishshanka and Diluta. Every dish we cooked with them was a tribute to this spice island and its flavours.It was so much fun, and once again, many thanks to the cooking team and the gardener, who supported us with advice and assistance. After several weeks on this island and many great hotels, this was my favourite. Many employees in the hotel industry receive regular training, and often what they learn is simply implemented without any warmth. Yoshina, the guest relations manager, is so warm and welcoming that you enjoy every minute she gives you. What warmth and friendliness!
