We stayed in a Superior Twin Room for 3 nights. We paid around USD 115 per night, including breakfast.
I'll start with the positives. The hotel is located on a quiet street inside Kaleiçi, yet the Old Harbour, museums, parks, viewpoints, cafés, and restaurants are all just a short walk away. The building looks charming from the outside, and there is a lovely courtyard with a small swimming pool. We didn't use the pool, but the courtyard itself was very pleasant. Breakfast was also enjoyable — a traditional Turkish kahvaltı served in the courtyard every morning.
Unfortunately, the room completely ruined our overall impression.
According to the room description, it included a minibar, safe, slippers, and daily housekeeping. In reality, there was no minibar, no safe, no slippers, and our room was never cleaned during our 3-night stay.
There wasn't even complimentary drinking water in the room. Bottled water was sold at reception for 40 TRY. In the end, we weren't charged for the water at check-out, but for a hotel in this price range, complimentary water should be standard.
The condition of the room simply didn't match the price. There was a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke, and the water pressure in the shower was extremely weak. I understand that low water pressure can sometimes happen in Kaleiçi because of the old infrastructure, but I've stayed in several hotels in this area before, and I've never experienced water pressure this poor.
The curtains had holes, the towels also had holes, and the furniture was heavily worn. The bathroom contained only several identical bottles of shampoo — there wasn't even any shower gel.
The most shocking detail was the plumbing. Instead of a proper handle on the shower mixer, there was an ordinary metal nail that had to be used to operate the water. Honestly, I've never seen anything like this in a hotel charging USD 115 per night.
Since there was no minibar, we were told to use the refrigerator behind the reception desk. We left two cans of beer there, and two days later, when we went to collect them, one had disappeared. After we informed the staff, they replaced it, but this situation should never happen.
When we reported the issues with the room, the only solution offered was to cancel our reservation. Unfortunately, we had arrived in the evening, it was the weekend, and we had concert tickets, so finding another hotel at that point simply wasn't realistic.
Another thing that surprised me was the "Renovated in 2026" label on the hotel's listing. After staying here, I honestly question that claim. The condition of our room certainly did not give the impression of a recently renovated property.
Overall, our experience was very mixed. The location, courtyard, and breakfast were genuinely good. However, the value for money is nowhere near what you would expect. At USD 115 per night, I expected a much higher standard of room and service. Unfortunately, I would not choose this hotel again.
