Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Amsterdam

Everything was great. The room was clean. The staff was friendly. The room had a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. I did not use any of the other amenities offered, nor did I have the continental breakfast so I can't speak about those. As a place to lay my head for the night, I couldn't ask for more.

Weather and the best time to travel

Known as the Venice of the North, the fun, diverse, and eclectic city of Amsterdam attracts more than 7 million tourists every year from all over the world. Amsterdam has an oceanic climate due to its proximity to the North Sea in the west, with warm summers, cold winters with uniform rainfall throughout the year. Spring season (mid-March~early May) marks the beginning of Tulip season and tourist season. April is considered as an excellent time to travel with medium to low traffic and good weather. Traditionally the Spring and summer is the most delightful season in Amsterdam to travel. Summer is from the end of May to August. With average temperatures ranging from 17°C to 21°C, tourists and locals like to spend as much time as possible outdoors. Flights and hotel prices increase drastically at this time of year because of school vacations and holidays. The best season with fewer crowds is fall and winter. Fall (late September~late October) is the best time to explore the tiny cozy cafes, free museums, and small, local pubs and bars as well as tourist hotspots of the city. Winters last from November to February with dreary weather and snowy days. And it gets even colder at the end of February, which is when the prices of hotels and flights hit the lowest, and one can easily get the great deals on hotels.
