Nice hotel. Breakfast was decent. A fair walk of 10 minutes to Amstel Station which connects to many places.

The room itself was pretty spacious and clean but the apartment rooms don’t actually have A/C even though they listed it under the amenities. The front desk staff were friendly and available all day but not very helpful. We asked for room change or partial refund after our check-in when we found out that there was no A/C at all, we were told to come back next morning as they couldn’t do anything without the manager’s approval. The other front desk staff we talked to the next morning offered us room change but we had less than a day left for our stay and were already behind on our schedule. They told us to send an email to the management if we’d like to discuss for a partial refund, which we did but didn’t receive a response until 5pm. And honestly the alternatives they offered didn’t really make sense to us as they didn’t seem to be helpful to the situation.

The location in Oost was good for us as we had a wedding to go to in that area. There are major roadworks nearby so some of the trams etc not running normally but it’s not too bad. Amstel station is best way to get to central city. It’s only a 10 min walk. The biggest negative at this hotel is that the bar is currently closed for renovation and we were not informed. It’s shut July 20 to aug 22 I believe. It was annoying as there aren’t any bars that near hotel as it’s in a more residential area. It’s a strange hotel really and rambles about a lot! but the rooms were ok and kitchenette was useful for us as we did not opt for expensive breakfast. We went to nearby Lidl instead and got items from there. The service in hotel was fine and the rooms were cleaned very well every day. It’s quiet at night which is a big bonus. The pillows were useless. Massive boulders. I chose to dump them all and have no pillow at all! Bathroom is practical and good size. Hairdryer was good. Wardrobes a bit small and I had to borrow 6 hangers! There is an ironing board and iron in the wardrobe and a safe. Tv had bbc1 and radio channels in English which was better than nothing. I would stay there again as it was good value. But make sure the bar area is open as it looks really nice in there. Very disappointed we could not use it.
