Alvsjo Hotels with Parking

The rooms are not fancy - but the important things have been taken care of: comfortable bed, clean, everything well maintained and a kettle!! (I'm a "make a hot drink in my room" kind of traveller). Good TV, good temperature control, and - again - everything well maintained. I really appreciate this level of attention to detail. The welcome upon arrival was excellent, the convenience to Arlanda Airport is fantastic (Line 40 and a 3 minute walk from the station, saving a 950 SEK taxi fare!!). There is a huge supermarket across the street called Willy's, so you can keep costs down if necessary. Every member of staff has been lovely, and so helpful. The gym is really surprising as well - they have really invested in it, although perhaps just having one treadmill could cost them 0.1 stars...? ;-) Then there's the food. Wow. Dinner was exceptional, and then breakfast was even better. And when I checked if my booking included breakfast, the nice man on reception said "everyone is welcome to breakfast". I am honestly very impressed by this hotel. And it is less than 20 minutes - from door to door - from Stockholm City Station. Brilliant, and thank you to the team who made me feel so welcome.

There are many scandic hotels in the Stockholm area and this scandic hotel is called scandic talk hotel and is located beside a convention center and is popular for convention delegates and tourists on a multi nation Scandinavian tour via tour bus and ferry combination hence we stayed here for 2 nights before boarding a ferry to Helsinki. There are 228 rooms and suites of which the size of a standard room is 24 square meters. Usual amenities include toiletries (except toothpaste and toothbrush) hot and cold shower, complimentary buffet breakfast at hotel restaurant in second floor from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Free play station games as well in the lobby. It is about a 10 minute walk to Älvsjö station.

The Location Connect Hotel Stockholm is located in Alvsjo which is only 3 stops/9 mins away on the suburban train from the Central Station. From Alvsjo Station the hotel is located only a few mins walk away. Quick Sleep Room The room was quite small for 2 people and a bit stuffy due to it having no windows, also on entering the room I noticed the top bunk hadn’t been made so I queried this with reception and was shocked to be told I had to make the bed myself, this is something I’ve never experienced before when staying in a hotel and in my opinion is a basic to expect. The bed was ok, the mattress wasn’t the comfiest and there was only a small pillow provided (similar in size to the ones used by airlines) When we asked reception for an extra pillow we had to wait over an hour as the receptionist claimed one couldn’t be provided until after 10pm, this was really annoying as I planned to go to bed early due to being exhausted from our journey but instead was left having to stay up to wait for a pillow to be supplied. Breakfast The breakfast was one of the main positives of this hotel and effectively made the hotel value for money as it was included. There was a variety of foods available such as cereals, biscuits, yoghurt, cheese, meats, salad, boiled eggs and fresh breads to enjoy either cold or toasted. Teas, coffees and juiced were also provided free of charge. My one request to the hotel if I was to stay again would be to provide scrambled eggs as personally I’m not that keen on boiled eggs and find scrambled much nicer. The Facilities As our room was a quick sleep room we didn’t have our own bathroom so instead had to use the shared bathrooms. Whenever we went for a shower or to use the toilet there was always one available and we never had to queue, the hotel provided shampoo/shower gels inside the shower cubicles so we didn’t need to bring our own which was handy. There was a sauna also available which was free to use and usually I would have it to myself as I don’t think most guests realised it was there. At reception there was free teas available all day and coffees were chargeable after breakfast. Would I Stay Again?: For the price the hotel was good value for money due to its fairly central location, free breakfast and use of the sauna, but if I were to stay again and the upgrade wasn’t too much more I think I’d choose a room with a window instead as 3 nights in the quick sleep room wasn’t great. I’ve stayed in pod hotels in Europe and Japan and I found them to be comfortable so its not so much the fact it didn’t have a window but more due to it not being adequately ventilated.
