Wonderful location, the villas very spacious, clean and complete. Very friendly staff. However, the heated pool was fatal: there were cockroaches!! And it also smelled very strange and unpleasant. A shame we couldn't enjoy it, but everything else was great.

Just back from Pestana Alvor Beach Villas. Our first visit, five golfers, couldn't have been better. Staff were welcoming, friendly and always helpful. The facilities were first class, the villas excellent fit for our needs. Alvors good restaurants in easy reach. We will be back.

Great place to stay. Lovely studio Villa in great location right by the beach and boardwalk. Breakfast in the hotel which was excellent with lots of choice. Special thanks to the omelette maker in the Christmas hat. Such a lovely guy. All staff were friendly especially the lady on reception in the day time at the villas. Easy flat 15 minute walk to town along the boardwalk.

Well what can I say. From the moment we arrived at the place, we were greeted with warmth and care. From the check in, which was a breeze to our amazingly spacious villa. We’ve literally just got back from being there for the new year. Wow, what a great place to be for the new year and all its celebrations. We were unlucky enough to get a few days of rain. But this place is just what we needed to relax following a hectic year. The rooms were spacious clean and kept well. They had maids come every day to tidy and look after the villas. It’s a 3 bedroom type which was lovely for all 5 of us. Breakfast was lovely, we ate here everyday, the pancakes made fresh were my son’s favorite. The staff were amazing and so very helpful.

We have just returned from staying here. The concept of a beach villa room appealed to us because of the kitchette however the room configuration is quite tight for a family of 3. Breakfast was served in the main hotel which was a short walk through the complex. There was plenty of choice. The beach is a stones throw and clean. The room could benefit from being serviced to a higher standard. The bathroom was dated and the bath / shower combo could be replaced with a walk in shower. The water pressure was low and the hot water took ages to come through. The bathroom needs an extractor as the ventilation was poor. The window was inadequate and didn't lock. The bedroom window was a bit iffy. It didn't close properly and neither did the front door. A few additional touches could be an iron and ironing board. Umbrellas for guests to use, we had to get these from the main reception. The welcoming on arrival could have been better. It was unclear where we needed to check in as our arrival was late.

We had a first floor apartment in one of the villas. At our request, the receptionist gave us a sunny room with a (narrow) balcony facing south-east. The rooms were compact, the lounge/kitchen area had been recently re-equipped, the bathroom and bedroom had not, but were still in very good condition. The villas were well spaced out with well maintained lawns between them. Villa residents had access to the hotel's facilities, which included a very good outdoor pool and surrounding terrace, an indoor pool, a very good gymnasium, and a well-maintained crazy golf course. We did not use their restaurant. There was a bus stop just outside, running every half hour to Alvor centre and to Portimao Praia do Vau at a cost of just 1.70 euros. Recycling bins (for self-caterers) were just outside the hotel grounds too. There is an Intermarché supermarket some 15 minutes walk away. which supplied our needs.

Lovely first floor apartment with large balcony overlooking pool and sea. ( 8107) 50 yards from boardwalk and beach, and about a mile walk to estuary, lagoon and then into Alvor, with lots of birds to see. Horrendous weather initially but still avoided showers and loved the walks. Stayed bed and breakfast so around 150 yards through gardens to Dom Joao II for breakfast. Lots of choice, especially continental. Cooked breakfast not quite so good and could have been hotter, but adequate. Glass of fizz seemed popular! Minor problem with ants in apartment kitchen area so keep food well protected. (seems to be an issue wherever we go). Overall a lovely place to stay and would be even better without the rainstorms!!
