This hotel is not far from the airport, the front desk service is great, the room has a bathtub, and there are pedestrian streets and restaurants around. The nearest restaurant, this very good 5 pounds and drinks, went to the Piccadilly train station for more than 20 taxis.

I've stayed here before when it was a lot better. Nowadays the outside of the building is in desperate need of decorating, with paint flaking off the walls. First thing that went wrong was the booking from Trip.com somehow became lost in the system despite us have received an acknowledgement number from the hotel. Next, the sink did not hold water because the rubber seal in the plug was worn out. The bathroom has no windows and the fan did not work so smells linger. On the second day the hot water tap in the sink stopped flowing - no water, neither hot nor cold. They readily fixed that for us when we complained, but we decided not to risk showering for our stay in case the water failed again. The TV remote did not turn the TV on - I found that there was a switch on the TV we could use to turn it on and off, so we used that instead and the remote fortunately worked for everything else needed on the TV. On the last morning my wife wanted to use the hairdryer and found it did not work - upon checking, I found that the wire had been pulled right out of the switch. We never found the bar. Lastly - the breakfasts. The Friday and Saturday meals were very good, but the Sunday breakfast was served by a different staff member who was quite parsimonious. My wife and I both ordered the full English breakfast, but what we got on the Sunday was one breakfast shared between two plates. Two rashers of bacon were simply cut in two, with my wife getting the meaty end of the two rashers and I getting the fatty end. There was one egg each - not two - and the scrambled eggs we ordered were merely stirred to break the yolk rather than properly scrambled. The portion of beans was minimal, not even a child's portion. We saw another diner having the same treatment and he was not pleased either. The room was a bit too warm for us but we could not find any way of adjusting the temperature. On the plus side, the bed was nice and firm. Reception staff were not always easy to get hold of or we would have passed all our complaints on to them as we came across them, but we had lots to do and did not want to waste our time. It's a shame, because it is the best hotel for us location-wise, but we won't be going back.

The room was very comfortable, clean, the decoration was excellent, and the owner was very friendly, courteous and friendly. I like it very much and I will definitely recommend it to my friends.

Forgotten to write a review here last month right after my visit. Hilton has never disappointed me. Although it was just a short stay for a night, we felt welcomed. Diego was the best of the best in the hotel, he managed to get us checked in within minutes. The rooms were great as well, overlooking the cricket ground. Well maintained throughout the entire property. The only downside is with the bed, it is relatively small compared to other Hilton's King size beds. Don't forget to bring your own slippers as they don't provide with any. It would be best to have some stock there and make it available upon request (maybe at a charge to cover the extra cost?). The staff at the breakfast lounge were great as well, helped me heated up my croissant, which makes it a wonderful day to start with. Will definitely be there again when I visit Manchester or Liverpool.

Booked to stay before a 6am flight. Room was very comfortable. Decent coffee from the tassimo machine and I was able to attach my Nintendo switch to the TV with the convenient wall mounted input

The environment is okay. There is a Hong Kong receptionist on duty in the morning. She is very polite and hard-working👍

Stayed just for one night with a good friend. Room was fine and well worth the price we paid. Coffee/tea, biscuits. We had a bit of a problem with noisy guests next door but was quickly sorted out. Breakfast was really fabulous. Best I’ve had in a long time. Recommend for short stay.

So the hotel itself is actually nice. Clean rooms, food decent enough. However, we had an absolute nightmare with the airport shuttle. We were provided with a timetable which stipulated a 9:15pm pick up. At 10 mins late, I called the hotel to be told he was on his way. Still no sign at 9:50 so I called again to be told he was “just leaving now”. Spoke to driver when he picked us up who said none of that was true as he had to go to Warrington to refuel the bus and there was in fact no 9:15pm bus. Someone is telling porkies. This was painful enough but we also had an exhausted 5 year old who was desperate for bed, plus having to stand in the cold for close to an hour. Common sense would suggest that they send a cab for you, but no they made us wait. Wish I’d just bit the bullet and got a taxi in the end myself. No apology on the phone. No apology on arrival. They already had my money so no offer of compensation either. Just generally crappy service which you don’t expect from Marriott. Suspect this will get a reply where they thank me for the feedback and work to ensure this doesn’t happen again blah blah blah, but that’s no use to us and a daughter now loaded with cold having sat outside for an hour waiting for the shuttle.
