The location in IJburg is not, of course, the city centre. With the train 26, the Central Station is well reachable in about 20 minutes. A supermarket is located between the end station (there is also a ticket machine) and the hotel. Availability with the PPNV is a train or car arrival that you can leave in the parking house (there are cheaper parking places than in the hotel itself).
Breakfast is very good. We can also express wishes that are then freshly prepared (e.g. mirror, omelet). Heat drinks are available by self-service from the full-automat. There is also a delicious hot chocolate here.
The room looks a little unfinished. Gray walls without color. There is no closet, but only a cord with clothing bar. A small treasury, a TV with, among others, German broadcasters (ARD, ZDF, RTL) there is also.
The bathroom separates a milk glass slide door, but it leaves a gap open that should be taken into account when you do not pin the room alone.
The bathroom is wet when you do it, because the shower is only half closed and there is no door.
The hotel is recommended if you can make a little bit at the price, 200 euros per night would be too much.

I had to say for a month stay at the Yays Docklands in March 2024. There were some positives and not so positives about my stay, so let's get started: Positives Apartments are spacious (I stayed in a 2 bedroom one), you'll find kitchen utensils, microwave, fridge, coffee maker (Nespresso) so this will help save on restaurant bills. Rooms are comfy enough with a full bathroom and you'll find shampoo and shower gel upon arrival so no need to bring along unless your skin type requires a specific one. I found the shower temperature to be fine yet it would suddenly get slightly colder during the course of a shower for no particular reason. Wifi does work (my Zoom calls went uninterrupted except for a day where wifi did not work for over 24 hours, no apologies nor previous advice from Yays), you can connect your phone to the TV, which you'll find one wall-mounted one in the main bedroom in addition to the living room. Yays is mostly used by tourists or, as me, people staying for weeks at a time, so it's very quiet during the day, I worked from the apartment a few days and I was perfectly able to enjoy the silence. There's a nearby street (Borneostraat) which is multiethnic and where you'll find great Turkish coffee, authentic baklava and many interesting restaurants. I encourage you to explore this street. Not so positives Location is a bit removed from downtown, however that's a matter of perspective. You can get to Central Amsterdam in about 15 to 20 minutes so it all depends on your particular preference. You can go there by tram, bus or even train (this one I'd discourage as it takes some walking or bus/tram). If you need some grocery shopping done, your closest supermarket is about 1 km away so be prepared to walk and carry your groceries with you. Staff at Yays is not responsive, cleaning arrangements are modified which is rather inconvenient and the cleaning crew don't bother to check if you're running low on gel or shampoo. All in all, I think the positives outweigh the not so positives, mostly if you're only staying for a few days as you'll most surely spend most of the time exploring Amsterdam and surrouding areas. Would I stay at the Yays again?: if I can find a better located alternative then no, I would not just for the convenience factor. Tip: Ask for a room located on a high floor, views will be better and you'll be more removed from the street noise (nothing to be concerned about, just one club located next to the Yays which operates Friday and Saturday evenings but the noise coming from it is very light). Hope this will be useful for you.

We stayed for a week and loved it. We were able to rent bikes in Edam and spent the week biking around the area. The breakfasts were plentiful. We ate one night at the hotel's restaurant - the food was amazing. For dinner reservations are needed, but you then have the table for the evening and can have a leisurely meal. As others have said, the rooms aren't big, but that is because they are rooms that were built as part of a home- not as a purpose-build hotel. The room was clean, had everything we needed, had a lovely view of the canal that borders two sides of the hotel. We were able to have the window open to let in the fresh breeze, but the room looked like it would be warm and cozy during cold weather. The staff and owners were warm, friendly, and very gracious. We didn't have a car, but took the local bus from Amsterdam's Central train Station to Edam's bus station which is a few short blocks from the hotel. If you bring a car, there are a few nearby parking options. We saw other travelers with kids and/or pets.

Excellent
Very comfortable bed, nice room with a good shower and lovely amenities. Surprisingly cheap nearby parking, only 2€ per day (yes, only 2.00€ for 24 hours). Very friendly staff. Tasty Belgium Affligem beer available at the bar. Delicious breakfast.
DdrduxianfengThe hotel is far from the train station, the traffic is not particularly convenient, the environment is good, and there is a lake with a good view on the side. The hotel facilities are a bit old, the room is in general health, the key is that no one comes to clean for 3 days, this is unacceptable, not to mention the service
GGuest UserThe room we were given was one for people with a disability, which meant it was very spacious. The decor was nice, the beds comfortable, although a little soft. The bathroom was also spacious and had everything a disabled person would need. It didn't bother us we were staying in this room. We didn't have breakfast but had a coffee which was good. Because this room is on the ground floor just behind reception and next to the breakfast room we did experience noise. There is a 24-hour coffee and tea making facility in the breakfast room which is great. However, when we were staying, there were people in there even in the middle of the night, as we could hear the chairs being used (scraping sound which was very audible in our room). That got worse when breakfast service really started in the morning. It made sleeping a little challenging. We would stay here again, but would definitely ask for a room on a higher floor and further away from the breakfast room. Check in and out was quick and easy and staff were friendly.
The booked room was supposed to be available in the early afternoon, but unfortunately this was not the case, as they had not yet made up the beds. We had to wait a total of one and a half hours in the reception hall until we could go to the room. The time we had to spend waiting for the room to be made available was sweetened with complimentary cappuccinos. The accommodations were very spacious and had a large bathroom with a double rain shower, a bathtub, and double sink vanities, though one had a clogged drain. The toilet was in a separate small room. It was nice to have two separate bedrooms, as this was a family accommodation. In one place the wallpaper had visibly come off the wall and in another place the cladding on the headboard of the bed was slightly damaged. Furthermore, the remote control of the TV was so dirty that we did not use it. All these problems could have been fixed by the room service before handing over the room to the guests. It was not easy to find a free parking space in the parking lot in front of the hotel, as this hotel is a popular conference hotel. There were several events held there, so the parking spaces were quite filled by the company employees who attended. The evening meal in the hotel restaurant was excellent, as you can read in my separate review. The breakfast buffet was also very good. The selection of cold and hot dishes was impressive and one wished that there was such a good choice elsewhere. It was very positive that after mentioning the above shortcomings, an apology was made for the inconveniences and a price reduction of about 13% was subsequently refunded. It can be assumed that in the current situation, this hotel also has staffing problems, like everywhere else in Europe, and that in normal times no problems would have occurred.
Really good value for money compared to Amsterdam prices for accommodation. I was visiting family in Almere so it was perfect for my visit, really close to the train station and near shops and cafes. The hotel itself and staff were lovely. Has the basics you would expect and I was very impressed with the turn-down service - I thought that was a very nice touch. The breakfast is quite expensive for continental so I ate out at a local cafe in the mornings. The area itself doesn't feel the safest, there are definitely some dodgy people in the area so I was always aware of my surroundings and vigilant but never had any problems, as I was visiting family, I wasn't out and about alone very frequently.
GGuest UserThe pictures in my review should actually say enough. Some details: When I enter the room I felt a strong smell between (to) old air conditioning and body fluids. On the daily deck of the made bed, several dry white spots were (particularly ugly when you think about which body fluids it might actually smell). The window was very drunk so you could not enjoy the view of the parking lot ... On the seat, table and night table were Krümel and Dreck. Other smiling points were on the garden and in the bathroom on the tiles. The spider with spider net was not missing, of course. Emotion showed the room after 5 minutes stay more hygienic shortcomings than it was square meters large. The reception was friendly and helpful to respond to our concerns and reviewed the room. We received another, equivalent room and free breakfast. After a little bit of snake, we are then betrayed that the other rooms probably don't look really better. The breakfast of a ugly hotel, which was just a bitch in the first impression, we have naturally had to reject and wonder if there was the possibility of cancelling out of custom in such a case. We were given a number and assured us there of help. The lady on the phone referred to an email address. So far, I write back and back with the support that either answers the emails with copy/paste texts a la ad brochure or claims false statements. For example, the staff at the reception probably was asked for a wrong booking, because in his statement, a woman is the speech that checked in to my booking. I am just quite sure a man ... This is the way the service online is equal to the service on the site. All in all my biggest hotel failure to date. Cheap hotels on Malle and other bed and breakfast Eskakades included.
