Hotels with Swimming Pools in Almaty

Everything about the hotel is perfect. My only suggestion is get a new hairdryer. The current one barely works. Breakfast was delish and reception kindly arranged transportation for me.

The most advanced hotel in Almaty, with a good view, you can see the snow-capped mountains and there is a very large shopping mall downstairs, there are free apples and juices at the front desk, the service at the front desk is very good, and there are dedicated service staff Guide us to the room.

Hotel Almaty Hotel has a large parking lot, is located relatively close to the center. Take the hotel for the pool. Worked remotely, Moscow time, thought to go swimming in the morning. If I knew in advance - would not book. The gym is in a terrible condition, small. Good hammam and sauna. Towels are asked to take their own from the room, although they are in the spa zone. There is a petrol station near the hotel. Mad cashier women 24 hours a day in the megaphone yell advice to customers. Even at night! The fact that they are under the windows of the house and the hotel does not embarrass them. One night the girls came to the next room at the call. Knocked to us at 3:00 a.m., then with laughter left, which confused. Very fun for them, apparently. In addition to the noisy neighbor in the room there was constant noise in the sewer as if the pump worked. Breakfasts were good, varied, but not enough dessert or bakes - all cruisans some accumulated. Try to have lunch once in the hotel. Dear, long cooked. Aperol brought almost without the Aperol itself, like a champagne with juice. The Internet sometimes lost minutes on 5 which is uncomfortable for remote work. From the hotel there were unpleasant memories, never going for a second time.

My partner and I stayed (briefly) in the Royal Tulip in December 2022. To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement and to see an average rating of 4.0 suggests most reviewers have no concept of what a good hotel is. Firstly, on arrival, the ‘non-smoking’ room offered to us had obviously been occupied by a heavy smoker so clearly the hotel cannot enforce their own policies (we should have taken this as a sign of things to come but we were given another room). Secondly, the rooms are advertised on the official website as 'air-conditioned'. During winter months this is simply not the case as the entire hotel is cranked up to furnace levels of heat. We complained for over a week about this matter and were consistently fobbed off with excuses until it was ‘fixed’ and although better, the temperature control of the room was never satisfactory. Thirdly, the noise in the room was excessive with road noise audible at all times of day. On the 16th of December an event had been held at the hotel after which staging etc. was being dismantled. Not normally a problem, but given it was at 3 AM and involved scaffold being hurled into the back of a lorry for three hours it soon became one. Reception was made aware and did nothing. Manager was made aware and never even apologised. Having booked (and paid) for a moth’s stay we decided to leave after 10-days. When checking out, the hotel alleged a ‘technical issue’ with their bank and could not refund the difference of approximately $3700 USD to us (this is still an ongoing issue). Royal Tulip alleges that their bank accounts have been blocked by Kaspi Bank which is very alarming if true. The General Director of the hotel was very apologetic and alleges he knew nothing about the problems reported until the point we decided to leave. That should also worry potential customers in that it suggests hotel management are completely disconnected from the day-to-day operations of their own establishment. The Royal Tulip Almaty markets itself as a 5-star international hotel. As a seasoned global traveler, I can assure readers of this review that it comes up as a 3-star at best. The facilities are dated and do not function as intended (AC as example). The staff are inattentive to problems, dismissive of genuine complaints and do not even know their own facilities – after we left the Booking Manager messaged my partner to ask where it is stated that all rooms are ‘air-conditioned’ to which she sent the link to the official Royal Tulip Almaty website (where it is clearly stated). What an embarrassment of a hotel.

Our July 3-12, 2023, family stay at the Novotel Almaty City Center Hotel for our son and daughter-in-law’s Qyz Uzatu bride’s wedding was memorable and outstanding. The staff was accommodating beyond expectations. Examples of services and assistance furnished include: 1) gorgeous congratulatory bouquet of roses, cake, and bottle of champagne for bride and groom upon their arrival, 2) Front Desk Receptionist Elmira ordered, negotiated, and “babysat” multiple wedding flower bouquets the day of the bride’s wedding event, 3) Deputy General Manager Yevgeniy personally helped finalize five 10-day room reservations, following up multiple times ensuring our full satisfaction, then emailing us a farewell and thank you note for our stay, 4) Front Desk Manager Altyn happily assisted with various requests, 5) entire staff was cooperative, positive, and professional, and 6) hotel restaurant’s breakfast buffets were delicious, and lunches were quite satisfying, too. Additionally, the hotel location was fantastic b/c: it’s adjacent to the large public plaza with memorial and fountains, as well as the tram to the nearby mountaintop which had restaurants, zoo, amusement park, etc.; walkable city center with nearby restaurants, shopping, green spaces, and more. Based on our family’s experience, we zealously endorse and recommend the Novotel Almaty City Center Hotel and will fondly remember our stay and the hotel’s kind, thoughtful, and service-oriented staff for taking care of our family.

Everything was perfect, the service, the room, the breakfast... Denis the concierge/doorman was beyond helpful. Location was superb, so many great restaurants close by, quiet neighborhood with parks and walking areas.

This is the best hotel I have stayed at in Almaty; the location is pretty, it's convenient, and it's quiet. The hotel itself is meticulously maintained, clean as can be, and very well appointed. My room (deluxe) was big and very comfortable, as was the bed. Best of all was the staff - efficient, friendly, and flawless manners! A trip to the bar found it wonderfully-stocked and quiet comfortable; breakfast, while not the most inventive buffet I've seen, was of outstanding quality and execution. Really impressive. The only shortcoming was that I could have used a refrigerator in my room - but I cannot even register that as a complaint - just a suggestion.

The hotel facilities are very new, the facilities are complete and the morning is rich. The service is professional, especially the waiter who cleans the room is deaf and dumb, very caring, warm!
